guys were performing full power runs on all engines at the same time (should only have full power on 1 engine at a time) and with parking brake only, not full brakes, plane hit the wall at 30knots, severla injured.

also heard engines were running for few hours and they could not be stopped ( unconfirmed rumour)

it was brand new and had not been delivered to the customer yet!

Not a good week for Airbus really as they had a sudden de-pressurisation on another test flight of an A330 intended for delivery to Air Mauritius yesterday.

The A340 is a lovely-looking plane as well. Let's hope it was insured, though I don't think Etihad will be any too pleased at the several months delay in delivery!

One question though - what was the plane doing *facing* the blast screen, instead of away from it?

I don't know, if Etihad don't want it because of the damage, I'm sure Ryanair would add it to their fleet - I've seen planes in far worse conditions on the runway at Gatwick!
