Couple Of Questions

Recommended Posts

Hope you can help me with these couple a questions:

1). should the sunroof open completely? when I open mine ( retract ) there is still about 6 inches showing in the "cutout" is this right? It doesn't look right from inside ....

2). what's best way to put the gas in? put some in for the second time today and it took me the best part of 10 minutes, tried reducing presuure on pump, change angle of nozzle and putting nozzle in further / less. No good. Any ideas please?

Can't comment on the sunroof as haven't opened mine for about a year!! Thought it went all the way back though?

Know what you mean about the petrol - I usually stick nozzle in then let in sit right down if you know what I mean. i.e. let handle drop so that it sits at its lowest point, that way it seems to be ok.

Ahh haaa...

the sunroof on retract/slide....

if u press it once, it goes like, you said 6 inches away from completely open, if you press it again, it fully opens

Petrol:

I use the "enlarged" part of the nozzle as a guide. This seems to work quite well, aslong as the opening has space to let out the back pressure of the fuel pooring in.

Cheers guys, it's back in a week Monday for some fixes .... so I'll get them to sort the roof too :(

UPDATE ------ cheers to dribble, there are two positions. One push goes part way back, second push back all the way. Don't remember being told / reading about that.

I'll cross it off the list !!

It took me a while to sort the sunroof thing too ;)

As for the petrol, I find that putting it in "upside down" works best. Hold the nozzle so that the grip is at "11 'o' clock" (ie bashing against the fuel door). I can usually get to 58 litres or so before it starts kicking back.

The other way round.... you get to fill in about 2 quid blocks.... which takes ages <G>

the sunroof thing is in the manual, i'm sure i read it there

the fuel thing, i found it works best to turn the nozzle 90 degrees anti clockwise (so the hose is pointing towards the back of the car) but sometimes even this doesnt work

however, i have found the solution :yahoo:

all the new bp connect petrol stations have wicked pumps that allow you to pump fuel normally even into the IS!

Go on try it, u won't believe it, i didn't. No wiggling the pump around to make it fill

Just stick it in, and pump. easy as that :backofnet:
