We've had this debate before a few times, having front fogs on really annoys some people (like me and pee.j) other see nothing wrong with it!

I use my fogs in fog for the sole reason of making sure other drivers see me

starts getting foggy - my rear fogs are on - I have a strange allergy to being rammed into by another vehicle cos theycould not see me.

conversely - stops being foggy - the fogs go off

Agreed.

Fog lights can be quite bright (deliberately) if someone is driving around with them on behind you....

There is simply no need. Most cars have 'daylight/parking' dimmed headlights, why not just use those in fading light - no need for fogs... unless, foggy of course :duh:

why is it that the drivers with fogs on drive like idiots stuck up your rear end, perhaps it makes the car go quicker .In my opinion if it is ent foggy turn them of they are a pain in the **** , It just seems to me that the type of person who has them on all the time is the boy racer won,t stop for anyone type who wheel spins at every turning .

Good point. Except that don't your headlights glow just as brightly as your front fogs? I don't really think they make you more visible from the front.

The rear fogs are a different kettle of fish. They are physically brighter than ordinary tail lights and as such do make you more visible. It's just a shame that some people think rear fogs lights should be left on all the time!!!! This are the people that annoy me. Front fogs never really bother me too much, although I agree they are oft misused.

sorry torrent - maybe you got the wrong end?

it was the rear fogs I was talking about

rarely use the front fogs - a few times down dark country lanes at night from memory - getting as much light on the road surface as possible (bad roads).

use the rears so traffic can see me from as far away as possible
