Curtain Airbags

Has my IS200 SE X reg 2001 go curtain airbags anyone?

I don't think so - it was a new addition to the 2002 model of the IS200, although I think the 2002 model was available at the end of 2001(?! anyone?). If the curtain air-bags are present there is a circle at eye level on each of the pillars at the side of the windscreen. The circle contains a label which says it is the curtain protection or something like that.

Ah, in that case i don't think mine has.

The pillars dividing the windscreen from the driver/passenger windows are just plain felt. There are airbags in the side of the two front seats. Mine was a very early 2001 model (January).

They came in at October 2001 with the other bits & pieces like chrome speaker surrounds, different dash finish etc.

Mine is an IS300 and the dealer told me they added them for 2002 as an option. You can check to see if you have them by looking at the pillars by the winshield and seeing if they have little plug looking things that say SRS Curtain Airbag...

wooohooo, thats same time as mine, 30 Jan 2001 X-reg. Mine hasn't got it. Plasticy box surrounding the seat ones looks a bit naff too!!

I like our steering whell better though. They have removed the holey bits at 10-2 and its smooth leather all round - not good.

get them sorted out then - Chris sorted the parts out and they came so quick I was bowled over - he's a :hocus-pokus: (couldn't find a star!!)

They are soooo easy to fit - once you realise you can do it all from then top!! he he.

Just get a small flat screwdriver (be very careful not to scratch paint) and slide under back and front of nozzle to release clip - you can see what it looks like from the new ones.
