Got The Aristo Back!

That intercooler is more than what I need, my stock SMIC was shot to pieces and unfortunately unlike the Supra fellas we can't get hold of Chris Wilson SMICs :(

Have to admit though at higher speeds it definitely feels quicker with that big FMIC - when I first put it on and did a highspeed run I was surprised, although a lot of the difference was probably due to the old one being knackered and old!

Steve took me for a drive when we were done and I now understand why passengers get scared, it's sheer madness and we were only pushing a bar at the time! I hit 1.3+ earlier by accident while testing the boost levels and on the drivers side it doesn't feel as hard when you're holding onto the wheel!

Is that the same grille on that other car? If so, yes it looks great in that pic so must be the light or something...........

It's gonna look cool with the new alloys on - these aristos are weird, I'm not a fan of the mk2 GS but there's something about these things having such mental power in a car that looks like it really shouldn't that's quite appealing! :D

I've got to have a ride in one of these some time :whistling: :winky:

Well Done Aido!! Glad you are happy with your beast!! :D

It's a different machine now it's running right again, I do like having the EBC now so I can turn it off so you don't get any unexpected surprises :D Love yours though mate, it looks awesome! Gord has been telling me for ages how good it looked and it does look fantastic! Need to drop mine just a little bit more now I reckon!

@ Parthiban. yeah mate I know what you mean, it's the same part, just looks much much darker in that pic. I'm going to have another look today as I'm half wondering if they've made two versions, but saying that every other pic I've seen looks identical to what I've just put on, it's confusing

Hopefully going to get them sorted this week mate :)

The grille is weird as when I popped to the garage tonight and came out it was totally black and shiny like that other pic!

Not yet fella, ordered some Rimwax off the net so hopefully that should turn up in a couple of days then I can really go to town and see how they come up :D

It does pull hard though, went up a big hill near where I live and the SLD took over if that gives you any idea and that's up a VERY big hill :D

Still tweaking the Profec though as it's a little strange in that instead of telling it a target boost it works in percentages of what the wastegate can handle, at default it was set to 185% of stock and stock was 0.92 bar so you can imagine what it was trying to do :o

I have been out playing for a bit mate :) It's nice to be able to change into 4th gear at WOT and not have the car stop due to the limiter!

As for power no idea mate but at 1.2 bar they're all pretty much knocking on the door of 400bhp I believe, should certainly be > 370 I'd have thought?

That sounds just about right, not too much and not to little? what do they make when standard mate? are they around the 280bhp mark?

Officially just under 280 mate due to that gentlemans agreement they had in Japan but in reality they're probably about 300-310ish I think?

The UK spec Supras were quoted at 320ish but with different turbos and injectors, the JDM turbos are torquier and spool up earlier and the UK spec turbos have a slightly higher top end power from what I read.

Just a few mods to these cars and they make a big jump upwards :)

Looking and i assume Sounding great Aido.

I'll have to get a vid like Anees did so you can hear it mate, sounds better now it's not blowing (caught it on the road near home), just need to try the Brillo pads on the exhaust first :D I'd caught one of the brackets that was holding two of the pipes together and it was blowing slightly, made a fantastic noise though, sounded like some big V engined monster!

Gonna see if it can remove the bark off em cos they're filthy!

I need to clean my tail pipes up too really. I heard using a cutting compound is supposed to bring them up great. :D

Brillo pad mate :winky:

Lance hit the nail on the head with that one, polishes wood up nicely :D

Go for one of those pot scourer things, sponge on one side and plastic scourer on the other, with soapy water.

Then some Autosol to polish up once its dried. Works a treat :D

Just done em tonight mate with a Brillo, was well shocked at how shiny they've actually come up - they've never looked like this since they were put on I don't think!

Had to whack a load of Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover on the ends as they both had a 1cm black lip from all the crud, absolute cow to get the bits off I could!

Will see how they look in the daytime as I've got some Autosol kicking about at the other place and could give them a nice finish with that!

What amazed me was how easy the Brillos took the crud off - I'd tried with a scourer on my IS and had black chunks that just wouldn't budge, the Brillo just ripped em clean off!

Saying that though once they're at a manageable level like they are now it will be ten times easier to clean in the future I hope :D

Just been to get the alloys fitted.....

And they don't fit

Nothing major, just needed spigot rings which I didn't have before but I've just been and picked some up from a local wheel specialist (Wheel Worx in Mansfield) and they tried some out on the alloy and got the ones I needed - 73.1 to 60.1 :)

So going back to ATS in the morning to try with these on, I'd not realised the wheels wouldn't fit directly and the problems it causes not having them so it was decided I'd wait until I got these rings :D

So, car still looks exactly the same as yesterday - but I did get to see one wheel on the car and they look ok - only problem is now it's making me think the 19s or 20s would look even better but as that would sacrifice performance I'm staying put with these for now :D
