Lip Boot Spoiler

Hi there,

I was looking the other day at some pics on internet and I thought that that the M3 lip spoiler style looks quite ok. Is anyone here got one? Are they easy to install ? I know they have the 3M tape to stick them on but do they last?

How do they look in real life, as in the pics might look really good but in real life they can really suck.

I am planning to get one too. It looks very similar with the TTE spoiler. I have seen a couple live and it looks smart on the car. I am not sure how long the 3M tape lasts though.

I reckon they would look ok. My car is silver, and I was thinking to get a black or carbon fibre look or even silver ...but I am still undecided.

depending on which 3m tape is used it will last for years - i have had the larger lip spoiler on for about 8 years with no problem.

i had one a small lip spoiler with brake light and looked very nice

I've got one of the eBay specials and it looks great on my silver is. I got mine from American eBay as they seem to be cheaper, mine was £30 painted and delivered from Taiwan in less than a week.

Looks very similar to the one I also bought off eBay, not had a chance to fit it yet.

Did you have to bend it into shape as you stuck it down?

Mine was not!

It talks about bending in the instuctions, will have a go when the weather improves.

Had to curve it to fit but it was easy to do, two pairs of hands will help though. Because of the cold weather I warmed the boot lid and spoiler with a hairdryer to help the tape to stick. Don't remove the backing tape in one go either, remove the first couple of inches and place the spoiler on the boot. Remove the backing tape as you curve the spoiler along the boot pushing down as you do so.

Ive got the TTE one, takes a couple of minutes to stick on......tape is very sticky so make sure you put it down in the right place......wont be easy removing it if you get it wrong!!....got a few pics in my garage

So guys ...black or silver ...or carbon fibre? my car is and I am thinking to paint some bits and pieces in black (headlights, stop lights, indicators, and maybe the roof.)
