Spark Plugs !

when should they be changed ? eg - which service 40k , 60k etc or is it something you have to ask for ? if so is it hard to do ? eg - could i do it myself ? before you say "look in your sevice book" its in the car and the missus is out in it for a few days . cheers in advance . :winky:

Sorry can't tell you as I've never done them myself, I do know all the air filter box has to come off

I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you

i have turned up at a dealership to ave some work done on my car

my car went up at 10 i went up to the viewing area at 10 past to see all the mecs on their t break

on my time

so spark plugs £75+ an hour no problem mate

especially if its arround 10:00, 12:00, or 3:00

if u know how to change sparkplugs with other cars, then u can change ur IS200s. u have to remove the engine cover....all bolts are exposed anyway, then ull see the coils...they hve bolts on them ,,,simply unscrew each one, and use a deep socket for the plugs. thats it. the hardest part will b d last plug nearest d dashboard area, bcoz its a little tight. not really a hard job.

as i say i don`t have my service book with me (as i said at the start of the topic) so i did`nt know when they are changed . all i did was ask (cheers bruno) when/how and if they could be done by my local garage/mate . (which looks like they can!!!) . cheers .

erm £75= an hour

surely it'll only take skilled technicians 5 minutes to do it :unsure::lol:

it takes me 5 mins on the 2 and I'm no trained tech, should take them no time at all, mind you are they one of those PITA companies that charge min 1 hour ? I don't know how lexus dealers work
