Grom Audio

Just installed the Grom Audio kit this afternoon with the Bluetooth adapter, so far I have to say i am impressed. Paired with the mobiles first time and all the music including satnav works through the lexus audio unit and mute audio when a call comes. So far money well spent !

For those considering installing, make sure you tape up the edge of the dashboard, and if you think you have taped it, tape it again... it's very easy to scratch.

I second that. The bracket on the oem head unit are like razor blades to the rubber coated dash

Did you get the grom audio unit from eBay? Also do you have a bottom loader cd unit? I am thinking of installing one of these as my cd player (top loader 2003) has error3'd

I got the Grom unit off the UK distributor, you can have a look at the Grom Audio US web site to find the UK distributor, I found the unit purchased off them is the same company selling on eBay, but its cheaper off their web site.

I have the top loader unit as I have the IS300.

Does the Grom automatically charge the iPhone/Pod aswell? They sell a seperate 'USB Charge' cable.......I thought the Grom charged anyway? The Xcarlink charges I believe?

not sure on the USB Charge cable thingy, but the Grom unit does charge the iPod everytime it is connected, even if the car is switched off. Infact, it can drain the Battery if left connected for about a week without starting the car!
