Random Indicator Flash When Arming Alarm?

Recommended Posts

Most of the time the car gives one flash when I lock it and two when I unlock it. (No beep or chirp)

Since a week or so it only flashes when locking when it feels like it. It always flashes twice still when unlocking.

Any ideas?

If it doesn't flash, does it still lock? It may be worth having your windows down and reaching in, checking the alarm sensors are working (radar doesn't become operational until about 45secs after you've armed allowing for settlement). If it doesn't lock, do you also hear the lock solenoids retrying?

Have you swapped your indicator bulbs for LED type? I've known it to happen with these as the set trigger is very quick, yet slightly slower on the unset.

Cheers mate,

Car still locks even though no visual confirmation and when pressing the button a second time it does the usual five flashes.

Sometimes it works fine and next it doesn't. All original ordinary bulbs still.

Puzzled...

Still doing this.

Read somewhere on here that somebody fitted a HID kit that killed the Anti-Theft ECU.

I have fitted an Antiglare HID kit before the weird flashy thing started. The ECU's are pennies on eBay so I want to get one to eliminate that.

Where does it live?

I know this is a public forum and info like this is better not to be shared but if anyone knows where it lives please PM me.
