'Luxury' cars of today mean Luxury and Sporty so I guess Lexus is offering the F Sport versions of the LS to the driver who likes a bit of comfort and pampering on his way to work and a blast down the autobhan and winding roads on his way back from work.

He mentioned the price, but I forgot what he said.

Looking on Lexus american site, the 460 is from 72,000 dollars, which at todays rates is £45,569.

Lexus UK have it listed from £72,000.

They never tire of ripping us off do they?

Before the "F-sport" branding came about, Lexus were already selling sportier versions of the LS, called the LS400 DHP.

DHP stood for "Dynamic Handling Pack" and there is a thread discussing this:

I was actually looking around for one when shopping for a large V8 cruiser, but they are pretty rare.

All the germans do it, so why not? Lexus have to "play the game"

BMW M sport

Mercedes AMG

Audi S (Line) and RS

Lexus F Sport

And they do those versions for their limo's too....

And there was Reliant with Scimitar. Mike

I much prefer the approach of being the wolf in sheep's clothing. I even had the symbol T5 removed from previously owned Volvo Estate

Yes, 'wolf in sheep's clothing' is the way I prefer to go as well! It was a phrased used by Fiat in their advertising when they launched the 132 2000 in the UK in 70's!

  • 2 weeks later...

i have a 2004 ls430 which i use and have plated as a limo,i parked it in the airport on sun with all the usual limos,s classes 730ld act and it looked and fitted in perfectly, but this model looks too sporty for that use and that is my worry, that its too sporty looking and will lose out on the drivers who use it for that purpose, btw i love my 430,what a machine! :)
