Cd Based Navi Maps Update

Recommended Posts

Ok so its whopping £98 from Lexus for a update CD for my CD based navi. Not to mention the latest available is 2007

First question is, if i copied someone elses map CD and put it into the drive what would happen?

Secondly, has anyone got a map CD later than 2000!

Ive used many GPS systems, tomtom, Garmin, co pilot, navman, waze etc and i have to say i really like the Lexus system, even if it is a bit tricky to set up initially i find it very clear and promt. I like the womans voice too :whistling:

but the only downer is that the maps are stupidly out of date and i cant justify the £98 for something thats still going to be 6 years out of date

Like i said mines the old CD based system. not available on that website....

Sorry, my mistake. It's just that a lot of people seem to refer to CDs and DVDs pretty much interchangeably these days. I also had no idea the old systems ran off CDs. Learn something new every day.

Ah yes i know what you mean lol. should of said the 700mb jobby lol. Yeah the old LS's and early 1999- 2001 IS200 and i think early RX used the old CD rom based system. It was updated to DVD along with the updated trim IS200's late 2001. Not sure of the advantages of the DVD based one except it had a bigger screen

I have a late 51plate what size screen should mine have as I have never checked if its the older or newer set up

7" on the newer ones i believe, which takes up most of the flip up housing

Its easy to tell. The older ones has a clip out remote and the new one buttons built into centre console.
