Got Through The Mot But At A Cost

Recommended Posts

Just had my annual service and MOT - I use a very good small local garage - the owner has an LS400 too which helps.
The car failed on the headlight adjustment leveller which broke a few years back - the lexus dealer set the beam at a legal level but did not replace the part at the time as they were quoting £600+. However under the new MOT rules driven by the EU changes these things have to be working and many other electronic items on cars too. Also had a broken front spring as well from thumping a pot hole. Was also a bott worried to find some deep standing water in the spare wheel well the day before the MOT - I cleared this out but it appeared the boot seal was gone so this was replaced too.

Full service done as well with all genuine Lexus parts and the discs and pads needed changing too.

So all in all a wallet busting £1378 bill but a clean bill of health and hopefully that should be it now until this time next year. i almost bought a 460 the other week but will definitely be keeping my Mk IV for another year now.

That was bad luck but you now know that everything is hunky dory and all for £1400 which is what you would have paid for another which may have needed work done on it so would have cost you even more.

Happy sunny motoring Mike
