Help With New Key Before I Go Nuts!

I know others have been through this as well, and I'm sure I won't be the last, but if anyone can offer some advice I would really appreciate it.

I bought a second hand key from a MK4 LS, identical to my master key. I then bought a blank and had it cut. Transferred all the bits to the newly cut key, which fits OK and turns the ignition on.

The problem is, I've been through the steps on the instructions on this link http://www.automotiveforums.com/t65722-programming_keyless_remote_for_lexus_ls400.html

but every time I get to step 10 nothing happens. All the other steps seem to work. I've tried it now at least 10 times without success. Any ideas?

Thanks

Phil

if u transferred the transponder to the new blade it shouldn't need re-programming

The blade is new but the transponder is from a second hand key, that's the bit I can't programme. Not much hair left after pulling clumps out! :megaangry:

I know that you can only program a limited number of keys to one car but you need dealer diagnostics I think to find this out,

Not what you want to hear I know but what about a local auto locksmith, if they can't do it no one can.

In the meantime for your other problem try these. :)

Thanks for the replies and the wonderful hair growth product!

I did put on a new post a couple of days ago to say I've sorted it out. It took literally 1 minute. I went through the procedure several times, then finally got it when I used a combination of the procedures given to me by two members. Like everything, easy when you know how. The main thing was to get an identical spare key which I got from a breakers on eBay. (where else)

Thanks again

Phil
