Hi all! Got my first Lexus around 3-4 weeks ago, a 2001 GS430. Before this, I had a Mercedes 190E for a couple of years.

This car's phenomenal. How did I ever live with four cylinders?

I think I have the only 430 of this body shape in Brentwood, too! Not bad for 22.

No competition, Clarkson wouldn't agree but what does he know! Only 22? I'm guessing your insurance isn't £250 then.

Great example. And nice merc. You got good taste for a youngster, im 26 and even now alot of my friends are still driving fart cans. I like mercs but dont think I could afford the maintenence and the reliability puts me off. Ive always wanted a E55 tho

The maintenance on 190s is non-existent, really. They don't fail so much as degrade over decades and decades. Service items cost as service items cost, only thing to watch for is rust and anything that needs the timing chain or the head fiddled with, that's where the money is. If you buy a 16v, assume there is no metal left under the bodykit.

My insurance is absolutely ludicrous, since you asked. But I wouldn't drive crap :) I used to drive a mark 5 Escort, so I've had my fill of crap.
