Ive just recieved a call from my company. They have agreed to let me buy an IS200 with my company car allowance :) Whtas even better the car is on my name and I dont pay company car tax :)

This means on friday I will be ordering a brand new IS200 SE in blue :P

How long do you think it will take for my car to get delivered?

I like the idea of parking sensors but are they colour coded?

Also I have had a great deal on insurance with lexus, Should I get another qoute with my gold membership?

Thanks.

Nice one mate! :)

The Lexus (supplied) parking sensors are black but can be colour-coded. I had my dealer paint them to match the car for me. Having said that, the black ones on the dark blue IS probably won't show up much anyway.

Alternatively if you go with the Quanan parking sensors (about half the price of the lexus ones) you can also colour-code those.

I have test drove an auto about 1 month ago which I enjoyed. But I want to drive a manual aswell. Also, the drive I had was about 10 mins round the block with a sales guy in north London.

On Friday I will be doing test drive for a couple of hours on my own. Cant buy a 20k car after just 10 min test drive.

I will be careful of the 40mph speed limit there :) , Eastwood has a few camaras about.

BTW im from chigwell.

Any jobs going at your firm then ?

You are a lucky boy. Jealous - me ?

Well - recently got my firm to do the sums for me - assuming you are blessed with a 40% income tax burden then the manual IS 200 SE would cost you £2406 per year in company car tax  based on it's CO2 emissions of 233.

If the company pay your private fuel as well you can add on another £1728 giving you a monthly sting of £344. You can borrow the money, pay the interest and own it at the end for that sort of wedge.

BTW - assume you have had a look at Woodford (although I don't think they have a great rep anyway).

Pulse, I was more thinking about getting parking sensors free as part of the deal :)

Absolutely - go for it! :)

Dealer would normally charge you around £300 (that's fitted & incl. VAT) for these. Painting might be extra.

Good move Froomer, I got stung by car tax when I had an A-class ( prior to the changes in the rules) but I love my IS200 it is great fun. Commig up the M6 the needle keeps creaping up past 70, then 80 and 90 and hit the ton without realising it. never had that before in a car. Push for the sports kit, just for 18" shoes they do look good on. IBM would never let me have a LExus as a company car :crybaby:

Now i don't work there sold up down south and my Manager is Jelous and our MD keeps looking round the 2 that are in our car pak :whistling:

Have plenty of fun with it and push for as much as you can but remember according to Autocar Lexus is one of the hardest to get any discount, so push for extras, that's what I did and got not bad a deal that beat Virgin Cars.
