hi

I don't there was any change in the actual sat nav (maybe minor software upgrades) between the 430 range so the answer is no - you can buy the latest disc which may improve it i.e more update maps.

My Ls430 satnag is the original disc, i do use it on occasion. I won't be paying £100+ to update it to the toyota/lexus "latest" disc when it is over 5yrs old as steve says.

If we are going somewhere like holiday destinations etc, I use my tomtom truck satnag, lifetime updates, cameras, full europe coverage, USA navcore swapable with the europe navcore via pc. £250

The biggest issue i find with the lexus nav is that it is cumbersome to use, it really needs full postcode search, i don't know of any business, homeowner that now does not give postcode as a way of directions to them.

It needs to be more visually pleasing as well, dull and boring to look at, i want bells and whistles, fanfares when you get to the destination, not some stuffy nosed sqeaky arsed virgin saying i'm at the destination.

Come on Lexus, catch up.

I agree with Chris. The sat/nav in my Mk4 puts me off completely and I don't even dream of using it. It would be nice if Lexus made a few CDs with current features as a courtesy to enthusiasts like us who take the trouble to maintain and keep the early cars on the road. But the, that would be really dreaming . . .

The sat nav in my 2002 ls430 is a total waste of space. I leave home in the S Wales valley heading inland and over a mountain but the piece of junk shows me in the middle of the Bristol channel, I reset it and minutes later shows me miles away from my current position. Thank god I've got a good sense of direction

If your Sat Nav is anything like the Mk 4 LS 400 when you go into setting the Satnav up you need to change the country to Wales. Mike
