Car Keys

Yesterday I work I could unlock my car, start the car, but the remote button on the key would not lock the door. The spare keys work fine but what could of caused this? and does it need reprogramming?

Does the LED come on when you press the lock button? Maybe the button is broken.

Make sure all the doors/boot are closed properly or the remote will not work

I had an infuriating time one day trying each of my keys closer and closer to the car to try and get it to lock before finally finding one door was not quite closed properly!

if the spares work fine but the one oyu normally use doesnt - change the Battery.

Thanks everyone. Yes Colin light did come on. I am going to change the Battery and see what happens.

Worth a go. But I would have thought if the Battery was a problem then it wouldn't unlock either. Does the boot release on the key work?

It might be the location of where you attempted to lock the doors. If, when you got home your spare keys locked it perfectly but your main key did not when you were elsewhere. It's happened to me before almost always when shopping at the Trafford Centre. If I move across the road to the ASDA car park it works perfectly.
