Liquid Circ. Noise

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas to noise I get when I start the engine.

It is gurgling noise that sounds like a circulation of some fluid?

I've checked the levels of all possible causes i.e rad, steering etc.

This didn't used to make this sound.

Think you want to get the water flushed through mate, I had the same sounding problem and it ended up being bits of rust going through the pipes so I got the mechanic to take the radiator of and flush the water out and it seemed to do the trick.

Mines started to do this on start up for about 5 seconds...

Will flush out the system this weekend :)

u have air in the system, prob trapped in the heater matrix, u need the system bled.

Thanks all, the water wasn't the cleanest I've seen it so I drain the system and top it up again to if it does the trick.

Don't put water in it use the correct Toyota coolant.

I had the same problem, i stopped the noise by topping up the coolant to maximum level in the coolant box and it worked...no more noise.

its an airlock in the cooling system

Something I learned from servicing the MR2 cooling system:

Turn the radiator filler cap to the first notch (not fully open) and then run the engine for 3-4 minutes until warm. By running the system at atmospheric pressure any air bubbles should escape thru the cap.
