I know of two older C-class Mercs both of which gave trouble with their autoboxes, (plus other expensive things). Lovely build quality, but no long-term reliability.1 point

A friend of mine had a 1998 Mercedes 300 diesel from new and in that time it had replacement wings fitted due to rusting, complete suspension replacement and various other problems. When I called in a few months ago the car was no more, apparently the suspension mounts had all rusted away and the car was scrapped.1 point

Yes the keys are just the start of your problems. (Pun intended). A grand is probably way too much. im sure with appropriate numbers and V5 Lexus will provide a key. It's not an unheard of problem surely? Bound to be a few bob. Still think a grand is a p take. You are buying it without a test drive. £400 cash to take it off hands and spare the hassle...1 point

I used t-cut cream on mine and it worked well.1 point

I would try polishing it by hand first as they are painted and then clear coat applied. Its probably just oxidised1 point

Hello, The air conditioning in my 2002 RX300 is not working. Like you, the passenger side is blowing warm air while the driver side is cold air. The car has 34,000 miles. Any help you can give me before I take it to the dealer will be appreciated. What was the problem with yours? Thanks1 point
