  1. well, I don't know which Motorways he's driving along ....... I often see a broken down car or two and most are relatively newish ............ Admittedly there aren't too many older cars like ours going along, but when they do they are doing so quite happily Olden times ( 1960's 70's 80's ) saw many a car on the side of the road, resting, broken down, or someone just having a picnic ( remember those halcyon days ) I would hate to be spending £30,40,50,60k or more on a piece of electronic controlled metal that I know is going to depreciate at maybe 25% pa and cost me annual servicing for ever what my car cost me to purchase secondhand ........ and doesn't break down either ! Cest Le Vie ..... good to see Toyota and Lexus represent some 50% of the Reliability Factor in his Report Malc

  2. Yep,the more I read about it the more it seems to be a gimped version of the GS450H. I'll stick to the IS and maybe jump on the GS450H later.

  3. Hi John, Thank you! I am so glad that it looks good and is admired! It took quite a lot of doing though. By the end I had almost collapsed The blank quote box happened to me a while back too- very annoying. Alex

  4. Definitely bigger car so imagining it would feel slow compared to the IS. Rear wheel steering sounds insane but interesting. Just passed a Mercedes not sure what model whilst out on my road bike and reminded me how smooth the Lexus Hybrid engine is at stopping and starting, no noise starter motor to crank up every time you stop at lights or a junction ☺️ Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

  5. With an LS 600 I would just google a few sightseeing routes and enjoy a drive in our beautiful country! Yorkshire Dales / Moors / Lake District / Scotland?

  7. Sorry to hear this bud. I know you cant fully stop thieving scumbags but this is getting ridiculous. What action is lexus or any other car manufacturer taking against this known problem? We know its a problem , the police know its a problem , the internet knows its a problem, so i think its fair to say lexus know too! Please do let us know what lexus have to say to you, because in my eyes by doing nothing they are culpable. Once again sorry to hear your bad news.

  8. There must be a way to safeguard against this, can the Ecu be reprogrammed or can a hidden kill switch be fitted? Or even a second alarm/immobiliser?

  9. Maybe it's a rebadged Harrier? The original wiper blades on my '92 MR2 didn't have hook and loop on the wiper arms, they had to be screwed on! I just replaced the wiper arms in the end with some hook and loop ones from a later MR2. Can you put a photo or two on of what you are dealing with?

  10. Well its a concept but generally the exterior looks production ready - it wont need much change for the outside. The interior is more complex and will be toned down quite a bit but its nice to see something a bit different. As for whether its a C-HR, its probably running on the same platform but like the RAV-4 and the NX, they will drive differently and of course, Lexus quality is much much better. Remember the LF-CC concept interior? Looks very similar to the IS interior today.

  11. If the discs haven't been changed in Donkey's then I'd do that for sure, whilst you've got everything apart, servicing the calipers & slide pins would be massively worth the effort! When I did mine (and replaced the pads, too) one of the front pads was cheese wedge shaped from uneven wear from a sticking slide pin! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Definitely worth it IMO. It looks and drives better. Having said that, its probably worth going to the dealer and driving them back to back.

  14. Clamp me in irons if I'm wrong but all that feedback is exactly the same as his old ID, how does that happen? Mike Because it's not a new account, just a change of user id, so F/b, joining date, etc, etc are all carried over. Even his current classified ad is still running, complete with changed user id. Ebay works in mysterious ways, and over the years I've probably spent far too much time scouring the used cars section. Well I never knew you could do that. Ebay makes it easy for those who want to trade dishonestly. Post a link to the car please. Mike

  15. I first asked him what the mileage was on the car and had the cam belt been done reply as follows "07854067762 142k cambelt done at 90k- adamsprogeny" I then asked him why there was a mileage discrepency as an older advert shows this car to have done 280,000 miles, his reply as follows "i bought the car saturday. its got 142 showing on clock & an invoice for the cambelt change. if u knew the information why did u ask? look at my feedback, i dont mess ppl around. anyway thanx for yr info & goodbye - adamsprogeny" I have since asked him why if he bought the car on Sat 3rd August why the the description log shows he was changing details of the car on the 1st August which was Thursday. Haven't heard anything yet. Probably snowed under with the number of inquiries from the LOC members. These people make me mad and make Ebay a rotten place to trade. Ebay should do a lot more than they do which is zero? Mike
