  1. Hello and welcome to the LOC.
  2. Not sure if it is standard across the Lexus range but the DOME fuse normally powers the interior lighting, if you remove the fuse cover the function of each fuse is normally marked on the inside of the cover.
  3. Hello and welcome to the LOC. A very nice choice I saw the non sport model at the launch evening at Lexus Derby, must admit I liked the sports version more and the sound system was fantastic.
  4. What is the wheel offset? It should be stamped on the wheel. This determines either how far the wheels stick out ( so could hit the arches) or stick in ( could hit the suspension components) If you post up the offset and the present wheel/tyre size I can compare for you.
  5. Just looked on Toyo.com and the door card price is about right, well not right for what it is if you know what I mean. Had a look on Fleabay but none being broken and with around 12 different colours not much chance of getting one 2nd hand. There is a GS450H 2008 with one owner and FLSH on there for 11,495 so how do they justify that price just for a door card!!!!! Just remember you may get hit for VAT and import duty if you buy from the USA have you considered contacting ACLex for a quote?
  6. I think you need to be a US resident to use this. But there is a selection of both driver and workshop manuals on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=lexus+is220+manual&_sacat=See-All-Categories
  7. Thanks for the report, the miles per gallon looks very good. I am the same with cruise control, there are very few occasions where it is worthwhile and safe to use it. The only time I would have liked it was on the upper part of the M6/M74 when travelling to Scotland in the late evening. The odd times I have engaged it I still have my right foot tentatively hovered above the brake pedal which is more uncomfortable than resting it on the accelerator pedal. It seems unatural and I don't feel in full control of the car which I suppose I'm not really with a computer taking over the speed function.
  8. The rattling dash issue is a well known issue and a lot were sorted under warranty. I don't know if a TSB was issued for the fault but am lead to believe most were fixed under warranty. To repair the defect the dash has to be removed and extra foam strips are applied to the dash, this would explain your 3 hours labour. The vehicle is by now out of warranty but if you have a FLSH and reasonable mileage it may be worth asking your local Lexus dealer if the remedial work has never been carried out. As for the water sound sorry no idea apart from (and I may be completely wrong here) there may be a grommit seal under the rear seat base where the wiring loom passes through the floor which has become dislodged but it may be another model I am thinking of. Finally welcome to the LOC.
  9. I have 10w-30 in my handbook which is the recommended viscosity oil for temperature ranges between -18 and above 38 degrees Celcius so fine for the UK.
  10. Hello and welcome to the UK LOC. We have quite a few Tezza owners on here so you should be receiving all the advice you need regarding mods.
  11. According to the diagram you need to connect your blue remote trigger wire from the head unit to the black/red wire which is the radio aerial trigger wire
  12. I would follow the advice from your legal friend say nothing and wait and see, just don't spend the money. The only thing that made me smile was "enjoy the interest" if it's anything like my current account running at 0.5% gross it won't be much.
  13. Welcome to the LOC UK, We're a friendly bunch on here and always ready for a laugh, usually at some one elses expense but harmless enough. I occasionally have a look on the German LOC but my language skills are sadly lacking.
  14. I'm pretty sure others have fitted IS wheels to the LS but cannot give an example, the only thing I can think of is the back of the rim is hitting the suspension components. I got some Mitsubishi EVO IX wheels for mine 17x8s and they went straight on.
  15. With the CT200 being a "Compact" car fitting a rear arm rest would I feel result in the rear seat passengers being rather cramped.
  16. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I'm not entirely sure what the part is, can you post a picture? I know most models have a 1st aid kit that fits under the seat but never heard of anything in the location you mention. I'm sure some IS200 members will come up with the answer for you later.
  17. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I've never heard of that method before and cannot see how doing so would reset all the ECUs, disconnecting the battery will reset certain ones but not all including the airbag. The airbag reset proceedure is a bit hit and miss and can take many attempts to get the timing correct, I made up a switch to do the job on mine and it worked with just 2 attempts so have another go. You don't say what year LS you have but the wire dance is only for the 1990- Oct 1994 models. Just thought why did your airbag warning light come on? As you probably already know removing the dash and then turning on the ignition will produce the warning light but if this was not the cause there may be another reason why it hasn't gone out after the wire dance. You can however pull the ABS diagnostic codes.
  18. I think the auto headlight alignment is similar to the late LS400s so check the height sensors and the actuator links are all working correctly.
  19. Strange, so what is actually preventing the wheel contacting the hub flange?
  20. Hello and welcome to the LOC both to yourself and "Knob" We are generally a little quicker on the forums at replying than Lexus were, but you are there now so all you have to do is enjoy the Lexus experience.
  21. Welcome to the LOC. I wouldn't fancy your insurance premiums at your age.
  22. Hello and welcome to the LOC. I had a 1999 GS300 for a short while and found it great but had to make a choice and the LS400 won, I still see it on a regular basis as it was sold to a local guy. Keep on top of the servicing and it will never let you down.
  23. Congratulations on your IS220d purchase and it's nice to hear such a good report.
  24. Welcome to the LS forums. Opinion seems to be to go for the last of the LS400s the series IV as it had all previous model faults ironed out and the best high tech stuff with HIDs and Sat Nav. The DHP nodel had revised, more sporty suspension and bigger wheels so may suit you better coming from a GS300. Some have done starship mileage but there are still some with "average" mileage to be had, as you already have a GS you will know the importance of a full service history.
  25. Sounds like you did OK for £20.00 then, what are H11 bulbs BTW?
