  1. Looks like a VW Passat front and an Alfa rear, but whats it like in the snow!:wow:
  2. Javadude--you should have waved the car down and introduce the driver to our new web site. I can e-mail you a windscreen flyer i have produced just incase you come across any other Lexii !!!
  3. My story goes thus--my local Toyota dealer offered to get one in April2001, this stretched on into July, then they said September and we went to the local Lexus man and still got a good deal and the car in a week. They warn that the car may not be full UK spec. i.e. no sunshine roof, no heated seats and the alarm/imobiliser may not be UK spec either. Hope you are lucky. [Edited on 22-1-2002 by Wallace]
  4. Have just contacted my local Lexus dealer in Wolverhampton for help/advice on a venue/date for the first meet. So--WATCH THIS SPACE & GET MORE MEMBERS!
  5. This links very nicely with the setting up of the first meet in the UK. We need to get many more members attracted to the web-site, so they can come to the meet. Hence we need more publicity to attract more members.
  6. I believe i'm correct in saying that the law has now changed on some museum sites being allowed to charge an entrance fee. e.g. we have The Aerospace Museum at RAF Cosford not far away and I understand that entrance is now free unless you want to hire it for an exhibition like our local radio ham club does. Plenty of parking-just a thought.
  7. The book says 10:1, and it admitts not fitting the higher performance 3S-GE four cylinder engine was "a missed opportunity". Do we need to rename the web-site as "The could be faster and luxurious" see "Lexus- The Challenge to create the finest automobile"...by Brian Long [Edited on 16-1-2002 by Wallace]
  8. Hi NotoriousREV-- not yet! Maybe in the next couple of years I might need to. Mind you I prefer to be paying what i'm paying and NOT what some of the younger mambers are having to fork out. I take it there is no age discrimination on this web-site?:P
  9. IS200SE, £327:00 with Lexus Insurance, full no claims, no points, age---well lets say still the right side of 50.
  10. Thats about the same as i get, mind you it doesn't help only going two miles back and forth to work every day. Havn't been on any long runs yet.
  11. Its the front view of the IS200 that does it for me. Together with the brand name that says reliability. It stands out in a crowd. If you get the chance, read "Lexus" by Brian Long, it gives the whole concept behind the superb brand.
  12. IS-PW I had the same problem after leaving the car outside when we went to the NIA in Birmingham. It took three turns of the key to fire up. I keep mine nice and snug in the garage over-night, and no probs since. I wonder if JD Powers will be interested in all of the problems with the Lexi, or do we have to wait for Top-Gear to have another survey?
  13. The dividing line is the "Watford Gap" service station.!
  14. You know what they say- if in doubt read the instructions! So I will have a look at the book, I know that if i'm listening to Telford Radio which is non RDS it sometimes switches to Radio 1 or an RDS station depending on which of the TA-TP buttons is pressed. Don't fully understand mine yet, i'll let you know. ------ Had a good read of the manual--it should revert back to the CD player . [Edited on 11-1-2002 by Wallace]
  15. Is the fact that they haven't turned the RDS off? Radio Stoke are forever doing it. So i have to disable the traffic report button, and keep checking every few minutes. Wouldn't be so bad but I dont even live in Stoke! Otherwise it sounds like a warranty jobby.
  16. Yes Lexicon thats what my dealer said it would be round-about. I wonder if the mechinics get bored sitting around with nothing to do, as the cars are so reliable. A bit like the Heinaken Complaints Dept advert.
  17. The only one i've ever used is Radweld, I don't know if its still available? What never heard of the old egg in the radiator trick? I suppose you dont carry a spare pair of tights in case your fan-belt breaks!!!!
  18. Have you seen the IS200 screen-saver on the Lexus UK site? I keep it on my lap-top at work, great for dropping not so subtle hints like"oh thats just my Lexus!"
  19. Look at it from an outsiders view-point, they may judge the site purely on what they see and not what they read. Do we need pictures of cars and dancing ladies on every entry? The sheer waste of space on every forum should be an incentive to clean the site. The site owner has done a wonderful job to get our site up and running, dont forget it is everyones site. Its no good advertising the site, if people get the idea its full of boy racers, there is a lot of very good imformation to be had, and we seem to have some very knowledgeable people out there.
  20. Hmmm! Easter Bank Holiday week-end, could be difficult getting away.
  21. I only tried one tank of Shell Optimax, the price put me off another tank-full. Can't say it did anything dramatic for the car, you can be the guinea pig for the web-site.
  22. Dont go for the IS200 key rings, my wifes fell apart when she dropped it. So I had to lend her mine to get to work. Lucky its covered by the 3-year--60,000 mile warranty!!!
  23. 2001 IS200SE, Platinum Ice, Chrome door treads and exhaust pipe. Lexus umbrella in the boot, and old fish and chip wrappers on the floor.
  24. We may have to tidy the site a bit if you want to attract all Lexus owners.I am trying to design a card to leave on the windscreens of any i see around the town. My wife(who payed for most of the car) dosen't reckon much to some of the graphics used on the forums. And I always agree with my wife!!!!!!!!!:P
  25. How can we attract new members to the web-site? I cannot find it on any search engine in the U.K. With less than 50 members, the first get together in the UK will be a little interesting. [Edited on 13-2-2002 by Wallace]
