  1. I'm suprissed the web-site moderators allowed that to carry on Steve. There is no such thing as absolute free speech when it offends others.
  2. I spotted over a dozen Guests at 08:30 Thursday morning. Come and join us- most of us DON'T bite.
  3. Oops, are you meant to check the oil on Lexus' Isn't that what the dealers for:smug:
  4. I think Les should be commended for trying to further the club. I'm a coward and wait until they have left the car before putting a club sticker under the wiper blade. And on the BMW theme- my first visit today was to a new estate in a posh part of Staffordshire ( yes there is such a place) all £250,000 houses, four in a row, and on every drive was a BMW. Now should i go for a drive up there in my Lexus to show them what they are missing- or just sit smug because i know something THEY don't.;) Keep up the good work Les- i love a lively debate. 5. Ok Steve, i'll try anything once:tumble:
  6. I'm still the right side of 49, but not for much longer. My wife is rapidly approaching the big FIVE-OH. So i'm still a toy boy to her:D:D:D
  7. To stop this turning into a "Lexusgate" (play on words) i think a duet is the only fair option. I think the "stars " have gone to their heads. 24 hours notice would help so that we can all leave the country! Olivia Newton-John will never seem the same:(
  8. Hi Chris, ive had the Blue Phillips for some time and they do make a difference. I only changed the dipped-beam (got the side bulbs free). I think the fitted mains are adequate. But don't stare too long into them, can cause snow-blindness;)
  9. Thers nothing in the IS200 hand-book or Lexus story book about it. Nothing was mentioned by the dealer either when we bought it.
  10. Sorry Mat, it was your idea, so you get first bight! Anyway Steve is far too IMPORTANT:P [Edited on 5-4-2002 by Wallace]
  11. IN 1988 Toyota were taken to court by Lexis, a legel information network over the use of the name. Toyota even had the names Lexul,Luxel, Lucidia and Lexia as alternatives. The law suite was resolved on 8th March 1989- thank heaven! Fancy driving a LUCIDIA:P (courtesy Brian Long)
  12. Hi Gutareth- I think i was quoted £370, some may say that its cheaper to pay that every year than the cost of a tracker because your car may come back damaged. Their way you get a new car. You pays your money etc.etc.
  13. Steve have a look at the Forum on "Nirtrous".See the number of qoutes quoted.Surely you don't have to copy the whole quote to get your point across.!
  14. OK Steve, here's a challenge- Webcams in the Chatroom for us that will have ADSL c/o BT soon (sorry was that advertising):tumble:
  15. OK Steve here's my thoughts 1- How about a section with known workable mods - not a forum - just a page of statements like "The IS200 will take up to 19" wheels without mods" or "You can lower the suspension by Xmm without problems" or "Lexus UK will fit a Tubo for £4000". Forums can get a bit bogged down with discussions. 2- When your sat on your own in the Chat room waiting-how about a clue to let you know if you are the only one left on the web-site. 3- Less copying of comments inside forums-it must waste 50% of the space on some topics
  16. Quite right Rob, thats the only complaint i have and short of spending mega-bucks there doesnt seem to be an easy answer to the engine problem. Apart from self-cleaning alloys Steve, i think the IS200 is a wonderful car:yes: Memory on the electric seats? [Edited on 21-3-2002 by Wallace]
  17. I didn't feel "comfortable" when the rev-limiter cut in! I thought i was in 3rd and not 2nd when i booted it, it was more the way it cut the revs off , quite a sharp de-acceleration. Still get caught with the six speed box-must be old age:yawn:
  18. Is narcissistic being like a flower;)
  19. Hi John Lee-is that why the IS200 has a built in rev limiter? Its a bit un-nerving when you hit it and the engine revs die:o
  20. No contest- Right Hand Steering-on the Left? I thin:( The Brits know best:P
  21. This is dangerous territory guys! Well ignoring all of the obvious sexist jokes about ride quality and re-bores, my wife helped pay for the Lexus AND lets me drive it at the week-ends. So i'll have to agree with Rob:smilegrin:
  22. Had a letter from Lexus UK today thanking me for my comments (strange how they havn't phoned) and saying they are launching a new magazine called "Ethos extra" with info on Lexus vehicle upgrades and new models. Cant wait!:wow:
