  1. You could just buy the sport. Its about the same price as the SE-L and has similar toys with a few differences.
  2. It depends on the colour of your car too. The guy I asked for a quote took a look at my metallic silver IS200 and said sorry I can't match that.
  3. Anyone else going to Brands Hatch tomorrow for the BTCC?
  4. I've used Lexus a few times and always got a courtesy car. It's not always been a Lexus though at least its been something with wheels.
  5. I've got these too. They do work. I once chased off some lads who were trying in vain to get one off.
  6. Thanks. He's hoping to prove the doctors wrong. They said 9-12 months and its been 9 and he's still around. You expect that there's all kinds of things that they can do these days but with lung cancer its rarely detected early so 75% die within a year
  7. If smoking doesn't bother me then I'm not bothered :) Having to breath smoke, getting butts stuck in the radiator grill (car then smells like an ashtray for miles), having smokers dump the cellophane off the packet in the first garden (ours) they pass after leaving the shop are the sort of things that bug me. At the moment I'm watching my dad slowly dying of lung cancer from smoking too so that probably doesn't help. My father in law tried to give up for years. When he put his life in God's hands Jesus gave him the strength to quit overnight. That was cool. On the IS220 the ash tray is so tiny its not much use for anything. I usually put car park tickets in there so I can get them out easily at the barrier. Thats about it. The one on the IS200 was better. I used to use that for change and stuff.
  8. So are you one of those smokers that drives with the window open so that the driver behind can enjoy the stink of smoke and then lobs your butt on the road?
  9. Mine was collected and returned to the office I was working in, valeted inside and out and with £40 diesel added to the tank.
  10. Yeah the IS250 SR looks nice from the outside but inside is a bit cheap looking.
  11. Yeah I agree. If you hold the revs 1.5-2k, put it into first, floor it and then change to second when it hits 4k then it takes off pretty quick, but... if u start off with the revs lower or let them drop then it bogs down, you go no where and die.... I wonder if there are published figures for 50-70 etc somewhere. Hmmmm yeah thats what I wanted. It's a shame they don't do one. Perhaps I'll just have to get an ISF next then there'll be enough power and torque....
  12. I had an IS250 auto yesterday as a courtesy car. I was looking forward to the extra power. Has anyone else noticed that the IS220d Sport actually seems faster than the IS250 auto?! I know on paper it has less power and takes longer to 60 but driving both in real life the diesel seems faster. Perhaps its because of the torque? Put your foot down in the IS250 and it just drops a gear, revs, growls and feels guttless. Perhaps its just me...
  13. Anyone else had the particulate filter replaced on their IS220d? Mine's being replaced today as it lost power and lit up like a christmas tree. They don't expect to ever have to replace them in the life of the car and didn't know why mine was blocked. (Before all the "IS220d is rubbish" comments I should just state that I love my IS220d. Yes its had the 5th injector replaced for the improved one but hey thats not so bad.)
  14. Diesel mpg depends on whether you get the sport trim or not as the gear ratio is different (non-sport is more economical). I usually get about 40mpg with my IS220d Sport but fuel consumption varies hugely depending on your driving style and journey type. My current commute involves 90% motorway at 70mph. For that route I can get 31mpg or 47mpg depending on how I drive. When I had a commute that involved less motorway I was getting low to mid 30s.
  15. I thought it funny that a politician explaining why they couldn't avoid the retrospective tax bit explained that they didn't have the money to do this as "money doesn't grow on trees". Quite :megaangry:
  16. I'm on original disks and pads at 42k but I guess it depends a bit on your usual journeys and driving style. I don't brake ever. Well ok not often. 85 miles per day commuting with about 95% sitting on a quiet motorway at 70 mph.
  17. I have a vague memory of a mention of a hybrid IS around 2010 but I can't remember where I heard it. If I keep my IS220 that long then thats what I'd go for so I'm interested to find out too.
  18. Oh yes Sadly there was no time to get my camera out before it was gone.
  19. I've just been on holiday in Guernsey. It's a mad place. Max speed anywhere is 35mph and it has lots of narrow winding roads and yet people have big fast cars. I like cars but if I lived there I'd probably buy a prius..... well ok prob not . Anyway... yesterday a silver ISF with Guernsey plates drove past while we were eating our lunch outside the information centre in St Peter Port. :o Does it belong to anyone on here?
  20. So who's IS200 with a quad exhaust?
  21. I've had a ride in a Carisma and it definitely had none.
  22. I ban spikes for not being soft and fluffy
