  1. Don't let go? :) Seriously, I've not really noticed this although I do find the steering affected a lot by the camber and by torque steer when I accelerate hard. Perhaps worth getting the wheel alignment checked? Hmmm not noticed this at all but there again I rarely listen to AM. Wish it had digital as I listen to UCB a lot. Mine doesn't do this so dunno Wow that's good. I think the best I've managed is about 32mpg.
  2. I get 28mpg from mixed driving. That's a tank average from the trip computer though. Careful long distance and I can get 31mpg. I think if you are looking for an economic car then the RX400h isn't it. If you're looking for a large, comfortable, practical, fast car that doesn't have awful fuel consumption then it's a strong contender. I've had mine for a year and love it. I can't see why I'd ever want to change it, but I probably will before the warranty on the hybrid drive ends. Most likely next car is a RX450h :)
  3. That's a rather familiar looking red is220 in the club newsletter :-D

  10. Yup, clay bar should sort that. I use Meguairs quick detailing spray to lubricate the area and tackle about a 50cm x 50cm section at a time. I also use Meguairs 3 stage after that - paint cleaner, polish and wax. Including wash used to take about 5 hours for my IS220d so only got done once a year. Not done the RX yet but will do when the spring comes. After that treatment the paint should feel like glass and look awesome.
  11. I liked the silver. In my opinion it's the signature colour for an IS200. The original promotional stuff when it was launched was done with photos of silver IS200s and it worked well with the clear surround to the rear lights. Aztec fire was awful. Metallic Brown/Orange. Yuk.
  12. I've always been very impressed with the customer service at Lexus Reading.
  13. It depends. I forget what I paid but the 20k is more than the 10k/30k and the 40k is bigger still. Certainly the 40k was over £200. It might be worth asking the price of each service from your dealer as they do vary quite a bit between dealers. I was tempted to pay for a service plan in one go when the VAT rate went up but was about to change my car. They said it would carry over to the new car but I guess there's some sort of adjustment and I decided not to bother.
  14. I've managed to switch it off on my RX400. There's an option that you can get to when you are on the navigation screen and press menu and then settings I think.
  15. Dunno but I believe that the difference between 400SE + Multimedia and 400SE-L is the rear screens if that helps at all. I get 28mpg with quite a bit of short town journeys mixed with longer stuff. When I take the average for longer journeys in/out of town I get more like 31mpg. If the inverter dies then its a four figure sum to fix if outside warranty. The hybrid bits have a longer warranty than everything else but I forget how long exactly. I'll be changing mine just before it gets that old!
  16. My last IS had several deep gouges put in the bonnet one year and got keyed down the side the next year. Perhaps it was one of the many stupid Reading people who walk in front of my car or cycle in front of it with no lights on. Perhaps they objected to me blowing my horn while I slam on the brakes instead of running them over. Perhaps I should just run them over?
  17. I think it needs servicing every 10,000 miles or every year if it doesn't do that many miles in a year. A 2007 car should have at least 4 stamps but could be more if its done more than 40k miles. Mine is three and a bit years old and got serviced at 10k and then after 3 years (which was 17k) and I bought it at nearly 18k. It probably should have had another service in there somewhere but with that few miles I wasn't too worried. Dunno about the cambelt. I guess I've got a few miles before I need to worry.
  18. The low down buttons not being lit and no aux in are annoying design oversights. What were Lexus thinking.
  19. The new set allows programming of the Satnav whilst on the move. It's a four DVD disc set that covers Europe, North, East, Central and the West one for UK/Spain/France/Italy etc. . LPZ445-X03EU-11 is now on the map update site so I've now got mine. I was hoping that it would also unlock the audio screen so I or my passenger can tap on a folder of MP3's instead of fumbling with the up/down folder buttons. Sadly this hasn't been unlocked though.
