  1. i have had these on the car when i mot'd it. it failed and on the fail sheet it said there is to much kick up on the right!!! if you put stickers on the headlights (to cut off the kick on the right) then these would pass an mot fine!! apart from that theres nothing you can do. these headlights do not have the adjustment in them to bring the kick back down!!
  2. i know this might sound silly but is the sub connected to the amp. as in, inside the box. have you checked the wire from the amp to the sub? surely even if the sub in knackered it will still make a thud when switched on, or some sort of noise?
  3. i have those lights on mine.(well there still off the car after the mot - due to go back on soon) they are not direct fit. theres a thread somewhere that i started. there for the is300. and you need to cut the wings. you need to order an hid kit for the projector unit as the is200 doesnt have a ballast to run the hid's. its not a major job you just need to cut the 2 mounting holes on the wings to get them in!! good luck!!
  4. the vinyl will feel softer but it wont really effect it. it would have to be extremely hot to cause any effects (like a fire)lol. the panel underneath could still be damadged by a key but it would protect it slightly. also the finish of the vinyl would not be as good as a painted panel. there wouldnt be as much shine and you would spot it close up that it had been covered in vinyl. there was an audi tt at a car meet i went to last week that had been covered with a wrapin camo print. it looked really good but there were quite alot of imperfections when you looked closer. it was raising and you could see the original colour in places. personally i wouldnt do this because you wont get as good effect as you would with a painted panel
  5. vehicle wrapping has been about for years. done a bit myself when i worked at another sign company. got to do some van doors over the weekend. you just have to use a cast vinyl. normal calendered vinyl has a memory and wants to pull back to its original shape. so it pulls out of the grooves it was formed into. cast doesnt so it stays the shape that you form it to. to be honest anyone can have a go at it and get a good finish its just the time it takes. had a look on youtube. and heres a porsche being done. to be honest the price depends on where your having it done. average sort of price is about £900 for a full wrap. you can get it cheaper and odviously alot more expensive.
  6. ive had the cat taken out and theres no engine lights at all. not worth the agro if its performance ur after. just makes the exhaust louder. not really anything more you can do to make these go any quicker without super or tubo charging them!!
  7. yeah it probably is the best way to find the sub first then the box, but its more that i dont want to take over my whole boot with a sub box. yeah the sub that was in the box has now died i think. i dont want to risk using it in case it fries my amp. like the last one did. havent really got a budget as such, but dont really want to spend fortunes. maybe £100 might be a start. try and aim for a sub around that sort of price. i do like lots of bass. so the most powerfull the better. but not forgetting the sound quality. if it costs more then so be it. where would i search and what shall i type in the search bar to find a sub that meets the sub box requirements?
  8. cheers guys. its an alpine v12 amp and was a kenwood sub (700w peak). i must admit i have the stereo set half way for full volume and the amps turned up. would i benefit more from having the stereo up louder and turning the amps down? ive not got the amps turned right up so i dont feel im over powering them if u know what im saying. volume of the box is 21 litres. how would i search for a sub to suit? without having to search thru every sub on sale. http://www.autoacoustics.com/sbn-lis200.htm cheers again
  9. hey. ive had problems before with this problem, where i had to buy a new sub and amp. what happens is, that the amp cuts out after a while of playing. im guessing it is heat building up. when this happen before i melted the coil in the sub, which in turn burnt the amp out. or at least i think it was that way round. what has happened now is that its been cuttin out again. i turn the stereo off then on and it turns the amp and sub back on. but minutes later it cuts out again. the sub cone seems to be sittin further into the box now too. ive put another sub in the car and it seems to be fine. but why is it doing it? am i running the sub and amp too hard? is there a problem with heat build up in the boot of the lexus. ive never had this problem before and ive always played my music loud. also what is a reccomended sub to go in the auto acoustics factory stealth box for the is200? any help would be appreciated. cheers neil
  10. rabster. how much would you charge to fit the 1 touch close on the windows and full closure to mine?
  11. yeah i get a shudder sometimes when i put my foot down over a certain speed(worse when people are in the back). i thought it was the prop. but was told it was probably cos mine is so low.
  12. if you want i could make a set for you. there not 100% legal. as in they are not reflective and they havent got the bs number or the dealer name at the bottom. ive just put my car thru the mot with a set i made. i have had many mot's over the years and everytime the cars i have, have the plates i made. ive made lots of these plates for all my friends and they havent had any problems with them at all. you can design the plates with any logo's or names anywhere you like. just thought id offer anyway.
  13. yeah takes a little time but it isnt that hard. while there apart you might aswell de-tango it and paint the inner plastic trim!! ;)
  14. yeah there the chicanes in the pic i beileve, i think he means the other optional extra alloy wheels tho.

  17. i bought the grooved and drilled discs from ebay a few weeks back. worked out at £190 for the front and rear discs then i bought the mintex pads seperate on ebay. hadnt really noticed much difference to be honest. i bought them purely just for looks tho. odviously if they were worse than factory id of taken them off
  18. yeah was well chuffed about it. changed back to standard lights and im all mot'd up now!!!
  19. took it for its mot and the only thing needed for the mot was the angel eye headlights. will pass fine with the cat cut out!!
  20. ive had one fitted about 2 weeks ago. i felt it wasnt loud enough for me and had the cat cut out. does sound gorgeous now. the guy reckons it should pass the mot with just the pre cats. we'll see. its in for its mot in the next few days.
