  1. Unfortunately the new NX does not currently support wireless Android Auto - at least not in the UK (possibly due to a licensing issue). It may be enabled in the future via an OTA software upgrade but there's been nothing from Lexus UK to suggest that's on the horizon. Myself and others on here have managed to get a flavour of wireless AA by purchasing the AAWireless dongle (as mentioned in this thread and in other threads on this forum).
  2. Just gave them a call and the guy I spoke to hadn't heard of this offering at all. He put me on hold for a few minutes while he checked with colleagues but the answer came back the same. All he could do was suggest that I speak to my local dealer about it - to which I explained that I believe it's a Lexus Insurance initiative rather than the dealers. Anyway, not wishing to labour the point, I left it there. C'est la vie.
  3. Hmmm.... that may be the case. I'll give them a call today and report back.
  4. Thanks to @PeterI and @StGeorge for their feedback on the unit. I haven't received anything from Lexus Insurance about this (even though I renewed with them a few days ago) so I might give them a call to see if I can get one too. May I ask a bit more about the device setup please? Am I right in saying that you need to plug the fob into the USB socket to start the car? If so then does it leave you with one less USB socket for other things? And is it the USB-A socket that gets used? Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree here.
  5. So Android Auto works when you connect the phone to the car via a cable? If so then that is good and is all that Lexus offers with regards to Android Auto functionality as your car's head-unit does not support wireless AA. The only way to achieve something very similar to wireless is to purchase the AAWireless dongle (or something similar like the Motorola MA1) as suggested by others on here. I used it in my 2018 NX and it was perfect. Basically the dongle is plugged into the car's USB port. Your phone then connects to the dongle wirelessly (so no need to plug the phone in every journey).
  6. @Kv_pat It looks like you have the set-up correct on the car's head-unit so I'm thinking that the problem may lie with the phone. What model of smartphone are you using to connect to the car? Is it running the latest Android operating system and the current version of the Android Auto app? What errors\messages are you seeing on the phone when you try to connect to the car? Have you tried connecting the phone to another Android Auto-enabled car?
  7. I believe that it should be possible to upgrade your car to have Android Auto \ Apple CarPlay. My previous NX was a 2018 on a 18 plate (Luxury with Premium Navigation - registered in July 2018) and it got the upgrade. I must admit that I did the upgrade myself, using instructions that other forum members posted on here (although please note that I don't recommend you go down this path as you could possibly "brick" your car's head-unit which can cost £thousands to replace - as happened for one or two people on here) but I followed the same process that a dealer would follow. If your NX has the larger 10.3 inch screen then I can see no reason why it can't be upgraded. I'm not sure how a licence key can be on "back order". It's not like a physical part that needs to be manufactured and shipped. Isn't it just a sequence of numbers that can be generated almost instantaneously? Sounds to me like your dealer can't be bothered to do this (free - so no financial incentive for them) upgrade and are fobbing you off. The upgrade can be quite time consuming and laborious, especially if your car's system is a few software releases behind, so maybe they don't want to do it.
  8. I agree Ken. After a few weeks of the app working fine - for both "last parked location" and driving analytics info - I thought that maybe Lexus had sorted it. However in recent days it has gone back to it's bad old ways. With regards to the "last parked location", I find that more often than not it reports the time and location of when the last journey commenced rather then when it ended. Seems like the car reports it's location when the car is started but not when it's turned off. I have never used any of the other features of the app (such as remote defrost\heating; lock\unlock; etc.) so I don't view it's functionality (or lack of) as critical to my otherwise complete satisfaction with the car itself.
  9. @Mobeam I mean no disrespect to the contribution to this thread made by @PB1642 but seeing that you are - by your own admission - not technically minded, I would suggest that you try the resolution I have detailed first. In the (almost) 12 months that I have owned my NX I have had this pop-up appear twice and on both occasions I have managed to get rid of it by pressing Continue and then logging in. I can't guarantee that it won't come back in the future (only Lexus technical staff can fix it permanently I guess) but it should give you some respite for a fair while.
  10. It works for me. Pressing Cancel isn't a permanent fix for me - the pop-up will simply be displayed again in a few minutes. Obviously I don't attempt to log in while driving. I just leave the pop-up box on screen until my journey is over and then log in.
  11. I have had this issue a few times. Not sure why it happens but it may be due to some kind of connectivity issue with the Lexus servers. Even if you hit Cancel the pop-up will reappear again in a short while. What fixes it for me is to hit Continue. You will then be presented with a browser window asking you to log in. Enter the email address and password that you use to log in to the Lexus Link app or the MyLexus website and you should be good to go.
  12. The email I received also stated that they will have a few 350h cars available for delivery at other times throughout 2023... April - NX350h F Sport Takumi Panoramic Roof - Graphite Black / Black July - NX350h F-Sport Premium Plus Pack with Panoramic Roof - Sonic Grey / Red August - NX350h - Velvet Black / Black (actual trim\specification not stated) September - NX350h Premium Pack Lexus Link Pro - Graphite Black / Black Thought I'd mention it, just in case.
  13. Just a heads-up for anyone on here who is at a relatively early stage of the ordering process (and could maybe claim back any deposit\commitment they have with their current dealer)..... My local dealer (Lexus Woodford) has just emailed me to say that they have two NX450h+ available immediately, stating the following... "The models below are available to purchase from Lexus Woodford until the end of this week. These are currently allocated to our dealer but will be going out to everyone else in the country from this Saturday. " NX450h+ Premium Pack Lexus Link Pro - Sonic Titanium / Black NX450h+ Premium Pack Lexus Link Pro - Sonic White / Dark Rose They also state that they have other NXs available for delivery in April and July. Maybe these are all cancelled orders?
  14. Thanks for the heads-up on this Peter. My 2022 NX is insured with Lexus Insurance so I'll be interested to hear if they will extend the same offer to me. Please keep us informed on how it works out. @Bluemarlin - with regards to the cost of their premiums, I didn't find them any more expensive compared to my previous insurer's renewal quote or anything offered by the online comparison sites so I took the plunge. It's up for renewal next month so we'll see what happens then with regards to cost comparison as to whether I renew. Obviously insurance premium costs are very subjective so your experience may vary.
  15. Yes, there have been reports of this on the US Lexus owners forum too. Reports on there also of the door locks freezing.
  16. I have been monitoring the fuel flap issue since it first came to light on here a while back and have noticed that the force with which it pops open has been reducing over time. Finally, when I came to fill up a couple of days ago it failed to open. I managed to get it open via the lever in the boot so not a total disaster. The car is going in for it's first service in a few days so I will mention it to the dealer then and see what transpires.
  17. Touché Herbie 🙂 Missing a bit of imagination - quite possibly. Armed with just a rudimentary knowledge of car electrics - most definitely 🙂 I had a feeling that you might have done more than simply connect it directly to the car battery - I guess I was just thinking out loud. In all seriousness, thank you for your suggestions in regards to installing the device - gives me food for thought.
  18. On the Infotainment system, choose "Settings" then "Vehicle customize" then "Door control" then choose your desired option for the "Auto unlock" setting. This procedure can be seen in practice by watching the "2023 - 2022 Lexus NX Deep Dive Tutorial Part 2" video on YouTube (fast forward to approximately 1:27:31 in the video):- Hope this helps.
  19. I have had a look at this device, as recommended by @Herbie, but would be slightly concerned that it appears from the description on the website that the device is connected directly to the car's battery via two small wires. Isn't this the first place an experienced thief would look if they were checking to see if the car had a tracker installed? They could then just disconnect it and go on their merry way. Or am I missing something?
  20. I have a garage so the car is usually parked in there overnight and when not in use during the day. I also do the key fob deactivation routine every time I lock it. This all gives me some sense of heightened security. Having said that, I've recently invested in a Samsung SmartTag tracker dongle (Apple do something similar for IOS called AirTags). This small device, which is relatively inexpensive (about £30) compared to purpose-built car GPS trackers (albeit not as foolproof), reports it's location via your own phone (if nearby) or via other Samsung devices that pass near it and can be tracked using the SmartThings app on your Samsung phone. I've hidden it in the car somewhere so hopefully the thief would have a hard time locating it. I'm hoping that it might help me find my car in the scenario where the thief steals it and then parks it up for 24 hours to see if it has a tracker on it before coming back for it. Not sure whether this will work out this way in reality (let's hope I never have to find out) but it's better than nothing. Probably a darn sight more reliable than the "Car Location" facility in the Lexus Link app. Of course I'd rather the would-be thief doesn't steal the car in the first place but at least it might help me to get it back.
  21. On my NX350h with the new Lexus Interface infotainment system there are two options with regards to connecting your phone:- connect to the Lexus infotainment system via Bluetooth (and therefore use the Lexus in-built navigation, media player and phone dialler) via the "Use for phone" and "Use for media" toggles or... choose the "Use for Android Auto" option and use AA (or "Use for Apple CarPlay" if you have an iPhone) [The setup in my NX looks very similar to what is being depicted in the photo you have attached to your initial post so I'm assuming it's the same 2 options in your ES] Therefore if you have selected the second option ("Use for Android Auto") and then disconnect AA, the Bluetooth connection to the infotainment system will not be established unless you go into the Settings and change your selection to option 1. This switch-over is not automatic. Having to manually change this selection every time is obviously quite tedious so you basically have to decide which option you desire and then stick to it.
  22. @CaspaLooks like it's starting to roll out to everyone from today:- https://www.androidpolice.com/android-auto-redesign-rollout-ces-2023/
  23. I would imagine that using wireless Apple CarPlay will also have a detrimental effect on the iPhone battery life similar to wireless Android Auto on an Android phone. I agree with you though on the lack of directions in the HUD when using Google Maps but that's not enough to make me consider switching to the dark side 😄
  24. Are you referring to Google Maps via Android Auto? If so, then an impending update to the Android Auto user interface (codenamed "Coolwalk") allows for Google Maps to run full screen. I have it working on my 2022 NX (I am part of the Android Auto beta program so have Coolwalk enabled already). Hopefully Google will make it available to all users some time soon.
