  1. aye thats true my mates ask if my grandad knows im driving his car. Ha.. cheeky barstewards.... I'm a grandad (5 times over) and I just upgraded from an IS200 sport to an IS220D... all you young guys don't worry, it is pure jealousy. You worked hard and bought "A Real Car" and not one of them thicko boy racers in their Saxo's,and Puegots and citroens which are cobbled together with nicked parts... LMAO Be proud and give em da "FINGER".... :winky: :D :P :) Col
  2. GONE ALREADY.... phew that was quick!!!
  3. He wants em Tommy, but he lives over the pond and I think shipment cost to him is going to cost a mint. I'm thinkin around 1st come 1st served, but in this case, coz Seecar lives so far away, I have to err in your favour mate. Less hassle. So, sorry Seecar, I'm givin them to Tommy as it's less hassle to get em to him. Hope your not too disappointed Seecar, I'll pm you mate. How ya want to get em Tommy? Col
  4. Hi ya peeps. I took delivery today of my IS220D today. It's lovely, but a different driving experience to that of my ex IS200 sport. Anyhoo, I have a drivers and passenger side set of two mats , IS200, (if that's called a set without the rear ones), going for free. All you have to do is pay the postage if you want them. They're in really good condition, charcoal black with Lexus lettering embroidered on them. Any takers. (You can pick em up if yer live close by). Col.... :winky: :winky:
  5. You are 100% correct phil... It took me 3 Hours of fighting to get the price I needed against my newer Lexy... Oooooops, better watch out or we'll have fil43........ on our tails again..... lol Col.. :winky:
  6. Just traded mine (51 plate IS200 sport, immaculate, FSH etc.) in against an IS220D. I got £3600. Webuyanycar.com offered me £3200. Col.... :winky:
  7. Ta Janey... It's wednesday now, and one day to go before I get my IS220D. Just looked at my IS200 and, my heart is sinking. I'm really sad (pathetic eh?) that it's going. This car has given me nothing but pleasure, even though their are some wee niggles in the design. It is truly the best car I have ever, ever, ever had. ( Toyota's, Alfa's, BMW's, Volvo and more are not a patch). Although I am excited about my journey into pipe and slippers, this will be the very 1st time I'll feel like I'll have to go in to mourning for the loss of a/my car. Still, I'm stickin with the brand as feel it is near the top of "The Best" list. This forum has been, and is, brilliant. I've, and, still will enjoy the support, friendly approach, and solid advice from everyone who has helped me when I needed advice. Thanks a zillion million, and I hope my experience with the new beastie will be as good. (if not better if that's possible??).. lol Col... :) :winky:
  8. Hey Ormi mate.. you got my vote every time. Everything you post/posted on the forum/s turns out always to be 100% on the button.. Hope you can keep advising me on my new IS220d??? If I was a wee bit closer I'd let you service it etc. for me. Col.. :winky: :D
  9. Hee Hee Hee.... I find KY jelly is best these days..... LOL. Must admit, I hate buyin Cars, but, I'm sticking with Lexus. The brand has been great for me. I've had Toyota's before and they were cracking, but the Lexus just floats my boat (is that the right sayin??) over all others. Now all I have to do is get some nice new sheepskin baffies and find a really smelly pipe tobacco and I'll be an even happier bunny.... LOL Col... :D
  10. well peeps, I've gone and been and done it!! I've traded in my beautiful, loved and much cherished IS200 sport. I guess you could say I'm retiring in to the pipe and slippers brigade .... Today, I went and bought a two year old Lexus IS220D (ex- Lexus Directors car). I was trepiditious about doing this, but, I ain't getting any younger and can't do the DIY stuff I did before. So I go into the breach of Pipe and Slippers with a humongous tear in my eye (and a smarting sphincter for spendin the dosh..... oops too much info there I think). Yer ain't gettin rid of me off here though.. ner ner, ner ner ner..... Col... :D :D :winky:
  11. Thank goodness for this post Ormi. I didn't think Toyota would charge any less for doing a Lexy??? My Lexus Dealer is less than half a mile down the road from Toyota (both Arnold Clark Franchises). Do you think they'd tell me to get lost if I now went to the Toyota place for services etc.??, or, would they hike up the price coz it's a Lexus? Wot you think mate. Col.... :winky:
  12. Dealers now don't have the monopoly on servicing their cars. Most good garages will do it for half to two thirds of the price of the main Lexus dealer. As long as when anything needs replaced, the other garage uses genuine lexus parts then your service history stamp is just as good. So, go save yourself some dosh mate.. Good luck. Col.... :winky: :D
  13. Welcome mate, you'll love your Lexus. Hope you have many miles of pleasure and troublefree motoring. Great bunch of really helpful peeps on here too. So if yer need help.. just ask.. Col.. :winky:
  14. Okily dokily Kam... Guess that means dirty lens or somethin less serious. Keep my money in the bank after all... LOL Col... :winky: :D
  15. Bummer really... Started getting Error 1 on the CD player. Seems worse when I start off on a journey. CD won't play.. Then after a wee whiley, the CD's will start playing??? Heard about Error 3 that usually means that the unit is goosed, is it the same for Error 1. If so, think I'm gonna need some help and advice on replacing from some of you guys pleeeeez. Col... :winky:
  16. yep.. toyo's..i just put 4 on my wifes feesty. Good all round summer/winter tyre. Bit more than £50 for a Lexus though! Col
  17. noo that's much mair betterer... :D :winky:
  18. Me no likey either.... makes the car look minky..... dustbin lids would have looked better..... Hee Hee. Col.. :winky:
  19. Wot model you got then??? Obviously touched a nerve here... lol Col... :winky: now come on guys i was only asking for the best oil i know the Toyota oem would be good but but i wanted to know whats the best? thanks wahid :) ;) ;) No problems with me mate... just being friendly.. (and supporting my Lexy baby who I love dearly!).. :winky: :)
  20. Wot model you got then??? Obviously touched a nerve here... lol Col... :winky:
  21. Gearbox isn't crap at all. It's just a bit quirky. It's reliable and fails rarerly. If you compare it to others it may not be the 5 star brand of manufacture and design but it's certainly not the worst. Hmmmmmmm. Lotus comes to mind... if you like rebuilding gearboxes, then get one of them.. Col :winky:
  22. Blimey.. you've been driving for 40+ years. Think you better stop and have a rest. Yer must be very tired by now.... lol :winky: :D :D Col..
  23. won't work on scratches... not abrasive. if scratches are very minor try using Tcut. Otherwise you just have to put up with them. Col
  24. Hee Hee good one mate... It's really for yer water ski's.... LOL Col.. :D
