  1. Don't agree, if you are given an alternate one free or if the price you are charged for a new one is effectively 'part exchange' then Lexus can keep it.
  2. But surely no greater spanner than a service, MOT tests and the like...
  3. If you have paid in full, it is not their car to keep....
  4. Ask for the work to be done on Saturday? Get the dealer to pick up and collect from your home once the school run has been done? Combine with a service or in the school holidays.
  5. The recall will be no greater deal than a service so I am unsure why you have reacted thus. What don't you like about your existing car to prompt this - or do you just want to deal with buyer's remorse?
  6. Its a new car so ask the supplying dealer to assist you - should hardly be a trouble to them.
  7. Interesting, thanks. I have to say that I do not use supermarket petrol - neither on my RX300 after about 5000m and now RX400, both from new. The former improved from 16 when I was less careful to 20mpg on a diet of BP and the latter was typically over 30. It has slipped slightly hence my interest. I'll try it, thanks.
  8. If you 'search' you will find several recent threads which should answer many of your questions.
  9. If you search, there are odd threads on the subject but I do not recall one in Berkshire.
  10. Why not ask your dealer for a price - may not be as bad as you speculate. Google search is probably going to throw up names as would asking at caravan vendors.
  11. You may well end up with a choice of putting up with it or having it repaired. There are some things which can be captive to a dealer, this is, for some, the downside of owning a complex and highly specified car with high original value in their later years.
  12. All the cars that required an inverter were recalled and you should check that yours was not involved and was missed. Inverter failure is rare and there are few discussed here and I have to say I thought catastrophic ie the car stops. May well be worth seeking Lexus good will but essentially you are in their hands if this is a genuine failure. how many miles has it done?
  13. You select 'B' when you want to slow down. Suggest you try on the open road with no traffic so that you try to understand the degree of retardation you will get. The manual tells all.
  14. Utterly illogical - what is the difference in posting to one area but another? In any event Lexus Carlisle is the nearest dealership to Cumbria.
  15. Surely a dealer would post them to you - Lexus Carlisle must surely be the obvious?
  16. I am sure that there are - it struck me that the one you referenced was way wide of the law. They aren't wide of the law, they are a show plate company so no such laws apply. Only someone buying them and using them on the public highway are breaking any laws. quote from their website: "Show registration plates are manufactured and supplied for 'off road' use only, rally days, car shows, exhibitions and use on private land where the law does not apply. Due to stringent restrictions of trade placed upon the 'Company' by the DVLA, all registration plates, legal or otherwise will be sold to the customer on the basis of being for show use only and the customer may risk prosecution if the registration plates are used on the UK highway." As they always aren't! It seems odd to reference a show site when writing of road legal plates.
  17. I am sure that there are - it struck me that the one you referenced was way wide of the law.
  18. They seem willing to supply plates with illegal fonts, badges and without documents - also illegal.
  19. Perhaps there IS something wrong with the air bag and the light is merely doing its job.... Tis car has had a few 'odd' faults such as pieces missing so this might be another problem.
  20. I have never had any problem with discount even without LOC: Whether it was pads, discs wipers or other consumables - even a key when I lost one - there has never been a problem. I would certainly doubt that the receptionist actually ever looks at the car to see such a sticker, hence having to ask about discount if you are not known at the dealership. Maybe they want me to buy another new car from them!
