  1. Dodgy car IMHO the interior and the rest of the car looks like a standard model S.....but how would it come up with sport via the insurance if they used the number plate to check......
  2. http://i.ebayimg.com/21/!BQ,BUtg!W...)uDNUCg~~_3.JPG Is that a sport interior ? Looks like it should be from the "S" model. It looks like an Alteeza interior....
  3. Most of the Dunlop range...like sport maxx,sp9000,sp9090, have quite a big rim protection on them.
  4. Yes mate its down to the inner oil valve inside the shock absorber knocking....does drive you nuts sometimes
  5. Nice looking car matey....its got the TRD styling kit aswell like mine...i think it really suit`s the car.... :D
  6. The KYB shocks from buypartsbuy are the OEM shocks which would have come with your car. My rears were replaced by Tony @ WIM and he confirmed he was putting in exactly what he was taking out. Hope that helps. @steve Tony replaced my rear shocks in about an hour - a lot of which was taking out and replacing the boot lining. TGT took about 4 hrs to replace my springs. Ed Cheers Eideath...so i guess these will start knocking after a while then....? how are the ones you had fitted bearing up....?...On the buypartsbuy site they do 3 different sorts of KYB shocks....oil filled, gas filled, and new adjustable ones.....by the looks of it these ones ( in the linky ^ ) are gas filled...i believe the lex OEM ones are oil filled...? I still think they just cleaned my old ones up and never put new ones in......
  7. Thanx for the linky matey...what are the KYB shocks like ..? are they any good..?
  8. Niceone "superblackbird" at least you got the problem sorted...where did you get the KYB shocks..do you have a link to the site..? The thing is im not to sure what the OEM shocks are ..think they are either made by..."KYB or another company"..or by "Tokhico"..???? I will have to get some new ones...its driving me mental.... :duh:
  9. Did the knocking stop after getting shocks changed? then came back as the shocks got older ? No mate the knocking noise stopped for a bit but came back about 1 week later....Personally i just think they ... 1.Didnt replace them at all.... 2.They replaced them but have a faulty batch of them .. 3.Or the company that make them just produce very bad shocks....(on the cheap side ) ;)
  10. The thing is i had mine replaced (under warranty ) but the problem still persisted.....again they were replaced.(so they say )...BUT they still knock to this day...its the OSF side that does it.....sometimes the noise is louder than others ...it changes from one day to the next..... trouble is it doesnt change the handling much to the car ( but im guessing it must do to a degree ) it just is a PAIN . ..it just annoys the hell out of me when going over sleeping policemen, bumps, ruts in the road or loading the car up on that OSF corner etc..... Im guessing its to do with how the oil in the shock body changes viscosity.(OR the inner oil valve is just damaged )...so sometimes worse than others...when it knocks it obviously echo`s up inside the shock body and into the cabin via the suspension housing.... To be sure, the people on LOC who have the problem and are going to replace there shocks at some point is to report to say if it has sorted the problem..... ;) I might be replacing the shocks soon just not sure to which...but have a few things in the pipeline.....so best bet is to keep this thread alive and monitor the situation...... ;)
  11. The knocking noise is the Inner oil valve of the shock absorber....ive had this complaint for the last 2 years originally the front shocks were replaced under warranty.( but the car is out of warranty now )..but alas they still knock.....so i went to an independent garage ( someone i know ) and they agree after hearing the noise going for test drive up on the ramp and checking ALL other parts of the engine bay suspension etc ,that it was the inner oil valve of the shock absorber........ So my next option is to get some new coilovers OR new front shocks absorbers like Bilstein etc.........
  12. There's a few of those round my way, one is in a dark grey colour and looks very nice. Quick too! On the RX-8, they claimed to have sorted the rotor tip wear problem that affected the RX-7. Yeah so Mazda say...thats why the oil consumption is a little on the high side to say the least...its just that the engine uses a fine film of oil in the combustion chamber to protect the tips of the rotors from wearing out...but so ive heard it can still wear them out.... fun cars to drive but the petrol consumption is shocking.... put a full tank of fuel in and dont be surprised to only get 200-230 miles per tank...... just my 2pence worth.....if it was me then id get the 350z....
  13. As Andy-r says copper grease would do ....you can buy Lith molly grease down halfords or any motor factors like allparts i would of thought

  22. Yes Roger Bill all the cars were in lexus hatfields forcourt area covered in the protective coating...and the colours that i looked at was..argento ice, cadaxton slate,...they even had a couple of IS-F`s with delivery mileage...yours for £40,000 give or take a few pence..
  23. Are they autos? Not so much the SE, but that SE-L price is pretty good given they're much rarer...... Yes Parthiban all auto`s ( SE & SE-L grade )with the mark levinson audio multimedia pack......very good price IMHO if you have the money...
  24. I recently got Toyo T1-R`s (extra load) fitted by WIM to the back of my IS 200 ("18") and the back end was all over the place and felt very strange....( i believe it was because of the softer sidewall)...so mark at WIM put the Toyo`s on the front and the Pirelli pzero rosso`s on the back...straight away the car felt better and was more planted at speed....they are currently on the front.... still feel a bit "weird" but has helped putting the pressure`s up to 37psi.........they are a really grippy tyre but may not be really suitable for the lex IS chassis running "18".......just thought i would let you all know... :winky:
