  1. From what i've been told the Eibach springs have been specifically designed for the stock shocks. However from what i've read on the forum your shocks will start leaking earlier with them on than it would have noramlly but that applys to all lowering springs with the stock shocks. Thinking of getting these done myself.
  2. Strange you got messed around with delivery, managed to get mine next day but i think they had to fabricate your one to order SortedVTi as i got the last one they had in stock.
  3. bloody hell thats expensive and i thought £100 for a set of droplinks was a bit dear!
  4. Yeah 7000rpm sounds really worrying. Reason i bought a new set of mats was that they would slide forward and interfere with the pedals.
  5. Had my blueflame on for about a month now. Nice hum at idle and when it gets warm is quite loud but still quieter than the engine with a nice rasp up the top end. I like mine as its not too loud but still sporty. Plus its nice and cheap which helps.
  6. might try and make it to one of the convoy stops to meet up on route, otherwise ill see you all there.
  7. Ooops really should have posted the reason why mine was flashing. I had just fitted a scanguage 2 and if you plug it in while the engine is running the ABS light flashes when you are stationary. This is resolved once the car has been switched off and then on again. Still a little concerning that the scanguage is giving feedback to the ECU somehow, but i suppose it can clear codes so has to at some point.
  8. Lets just hope the car is registered in Mum's name as then its just the legal side of dodgy I think. (It's what i did on my 1st car: Grans old 1ltr Yaris) @vvprotocolvv - its cheaper for me to insure my IS for me (as main driver) + both my folks than just me so thats what she might have meant.
  9. Hmmm I think it would all come out a little wrong imo. However i think the "lovely young tart" would make a great accesory to the car! Seriouslty though i'm a fan of the Super Ts and think they would look great on all corners lowered on the TEINs without the yellow, maybe gunmetal.
  10. Ok ok. That was very badly worded post in a rush by myself.....I know its not worth that and i'm not sure im going to sell it. The tip is very tatty, has black gunk on the end, and scraping from possible speedbump. I'm trying to polish it but its heavily pitted aswell. I was also thinking of taking it along to the WIM meet myself, as i know there may be some who want it, and may give it away there.
  11. Well I have been told they go for about £70 on Ebay..........
  12. Hi there, I've recently had the standard Blueflame fitted. I'm assuming when he said it would be louder with a dual exit he meant louder than the single blueflame rather than the OEM. Well its a little louder than stock at idle but mostly a deeper hum. Between 1.5k - 3k it is much louder than stock when warm with a nice loud hum: then the engine noise takes over when sat in the drivers seat or raspy from behind over 3k rpm. Hope that made sense, i'm a little frazzled.
  13. I have an OEM one at home as i've just replaced my exhaust. I'll give it a scrub over the weekend to see if it comes up nicely as its looking a little crappy. But i'll probs put it on members market if it does come out nicely.
  14. Well lower is always better, so go for the lowest you can afford on an X-reg Sport. Mine has only done 67k. However with a full service history 100k is nothing to worry about.
  15. The main differences a sport has to an SE is lowered suspension and a limited slip diff. Cosmetic additions are metal kick plates + pedals, two tone steering wheel, mini spoiler and "Chrome" Exhaust trim. X reg and older pay ~£200 tax, Y reg and younger pay ~£400 due to high CO2.
  16. The fuel consumption will increase with a performance filter as more air = more fuel. You may not have noticed any extra performance as the human brain can only notice differences of/over 10% and the 10% extra fuel is probably not giving you 10% extra performance. But on a 200BHP engine 10% difference would give you +20BHP increase and that would be a miracle from just a filter unless the breathing was awful in the 1st place. You also get better induction noise.
  17. I've never had any problems with K&N panel filters. They have always been a perfect fit (Yaris, Focus, IS200). There are two types of panel filter for the IS300 it seems: maybe one doesnt fit well K33332170 & W0133-1614589 one has a bar and legs while the other is just a flat panel.
  18. My insurance company always state that they will only pay for the car to be put back to its original state as defined by the manufacturer. But I know people who have informed the insurance company that their modified parts are cheaper than the OEM ones so the insurance company have paid for those instead.
  19. As it is not your insurance company, you have no agreement with them, therefore no conditions to what they will pay out on. You should, though i am no expert, be able to claim back for all damage. However be prepared to get "well we will pay for the cost of either the stock or modified suspension" therefore payout will quite likely be the same as generally aftermarket parts are cheaper than the lexus retail price for stock parts. Unfortuantely you probably won't be able to claim for the value of the car (inc. stock suspension & wheels) + modified suspension & wheels.
  20. I would doubt there was an article as with the electronic throttle N/A induction mods dont increase performance.
  21. I have discovered the problem with the ABS light. This only happens if you plug the Scanguage in when the car is allready on.
  22. Noooooo now i probably have the worst wheels in the club!! So not cool. Either way nice one mate, wheel are looking really good, it was about time they were done :P . As above where did you get them done? I have a new exhaust on Friday. Got myself a Blueflame, sounds the business once its warm, plus loving the woomf when i start the car. Makes up for my scarred wheels a little. You should have a listen if you havent got one by the WIM meet in July.
  23. I decided to buy some xenons and bought the ones of Ebay that say they use 5th Generation ballasts (must admit thought there were only 4 gens atm) and they come in less than HIDS4U delivered. The kit comes in a case and the kit seems good quality. Also i found it all a doddle to fit. Again remember to plug the positive wire into the negative terminal on the ballast to make it work. Hope that helps
