  1. The Renault Megane is a close second! <-- only one on the sickometer
  2. No, it's HAS to be the Fiat Multipla...bl00dy thing looks like a frog
  3. Do I what I did. Try to fit your lexus into the boot of a Vectra somewhere on the M5 (doesn't fit btw, not even nearly). Then claim on your protected no claims. You get a nice new bonnet and bumper, newly sprayed and completely free of stone chips. :P Disclaimer: Deliberately driving into the back of Vectras, or any other vehicle for that matter, is irresponsible and will probably hurt. Do not try this at home (or on the Motorway)!
  4. Unless they nicked a getaway car with illegal plates :)
  5. I've wondered the same thing before. The ASL in my GS doesn't really seem to work that well as I always seem to be fiddling with the volume. I see the "nuggets" going up and down but don't really hear any discernible difference. I wonder if mine is boogered?
  6. I think when filling the coolant system it helps if you keep squeezing the coolant pipes as you are doing it. This helps prevent those airlocks.
  7. Vehicle Stability Control - hmm...what exactly does VSC do (i.e. how does it improve stability?) and do any of you drive your GS' with it switched off?
  8. Driving without insurance carrys a minimum 6 to 8 points on your licence (IN10), AND can even lead to an instant disqualification! Also, when quoted to the next insurance company you go with will result in a hefty premium! More than just £200 at stake!!
  9. Mine's due a 60K service in the not too distant future. It's a 2000 model, do you know if that year requires a cambelt change at 60K?
  10. Sheesh! That's the pits mate. :( For what it's worth, someone reversed into my wife's rover in a car park and drove off. A witness saw them and left their contact details, along with the registration of the offending vehicle, on our windscreen. We contacted the police and eventually it got sorted. It did, however, take over 2 months, before we had authorisation to get the car repaired. What we did was to claim on our insurance who agreed they would recredit our no claims bonus if the other insurers paid up, which they did. Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having and hope this is the end of it all.
  11. Update I am very pleased to say that Lexus Oxford have taken my complaint most seriously and have completely rectified the situation, sent a written apology and offered compensation. Their prompt action has restored some of my lost faith in the Lexus Dealer Customer Service and I shall use them for my servicing needs in the future. Only time will tell for sure, but this is a step in the right direction. Thank you Oxford.
  12. I thought I would post a quick FAQ on the LOC Event Management Tool (EMT). GENERAL Does the EMT negate the need for a Club Meetings forum? No! The purpose of the tool is allow members who wish to organise an event easy means of doing so. It also affords other members easy means of listing all events in their region (as well as the main events). In addition, members can see how many people are registered for an event, list the confirmed members, contact the organiser and view detailed event information. It is still recommended a thread is set up for each event, to promote open discussion surrounding the event. In fact, when adding an event there is a field to allow you to add a link to a thread in the forums. Do I have to register to use the tool? Unfortunately, yes! This is really the only means that we can identify members and organisers and create an appropriate profile (geographic region). Why can't you link into the forums members database? Weighing up the pro's and con's of this show that it would actually not be very beneficial to do this. For example, if the forums database got corrupted, so would the Event Management Tool, also if the forums were later upgraded this may have an affect on the EMT. In addition, we needed to add some bespoke fields to the members table that are not available in the forums members tables. Do I have to provide my email address? Yes. This is because of two main reasons. We did not wish to allow members to be able to organise an event and not be contactable via email regarding it. In addition you can receive email updates when an event is either cancelled or updated by its organiser (this is an automatic process). What if I don't want to receive email notifications? That's fine. Just go into your Control Panel and uncheck the email notification checkbox Can others see my email address? No, you can only be contacted through a form. Your email address is never displayed. How do I confirm my registration? When you register you will be sent a confirmation email with a unique link in it. Simply click on the link to complete your registration. Can I log in before I have confirmed my registration Sorry, no. FUNCTIONALITY How do I add a local event? At th bottom of the events page you will see an "Add an Event" link. Simply click this and complete the form. This will then add an event for your region. How do I add a main event? Only members with the relevent priviliges set can add global events. They have an additional form element on the "Add an Event" form which allows them to do this. How do I edit an event? You can only edit your own events and only if you have been granted regional event edit privileges (which is the default). Once your event has been added to the database it will be visible in the events table. As the organiser you can click on the name of your event which will take you to the event edit form. Complete only those form elements which you wish to change, leave the remainder blank (and they will retain their existing values). Members who have elected to receive update notifications will be informed of an update to the event. How do I delete an event? You can only delete your own events and only if you have been granted regional event delete privileges (which is the default). Click on the event name in the events table, at the bottom of the form is a check box which, when checked and after confirmation, will allow you to delete your event. Any members who have elected to receive update notifications will be informed of the events cancellation. How do I contact an event organiser? Click the "Click here to contact organiser" link in the row of the event table corresponding to the event you are interested in. This will load up a contact form which you will be to use to contact the organiser. How do I change my profile You can change your user profile (email address, region, etc) by clicking the link "Control Panel" at the foot of the events page. How do I register for an event? Click the "register" link for the event you are interested in. How do I unregister from an event? Click the unregister link for the event you wish to unregister from. Can I register for a regional event outside of my region? Yes. Click the "List all Events" link at the foot of the events page, then click the register link for the event you are interested in. Can I sort the order of the events in the table? Yes. You can sort either by date or by event name. Simply click the column heading depicting your sort preference. Clicking multiple times will toggle between ascending and descending sort order. How do I view detailed event information? If you are not the event's organiser then clicking the event name in the events' table will display detailed information regarding the event (as well as any link to the forums where the event is discussed) Can I make recommendations for improvement? Of course. All recommendations are gratefully received. Please understand that Steve (Administrator) has to decide what goes in and what does not. I cannot make any changes without his go-ahead. Where can I send my questions, recommendations, bug reports to? Feel free to PM them to me. I will read each one and speak with Steve if and when required. Thanks all.
  13. Claire, It doesn't appear to have you listed in the members database. Can you tell me which username you chose? I have tested with underscores in names, as well as spaces, and these have worked on my development server so that shouldn't be the case. However, there are always environment specific issues which can trip you up at these times so I am not discounting anything. PM me if you want. Thanks
  14. I am now.... B) Small suggestions, Say I want to propose a meet in a particular region, but I can't set the date until others show an interest first? Can I open a meet request, and change the date when enough interest is shown? Also, can I see who else has registered for a meet? ie.e I don't want to attend a meet, if Zee's going to be there too!!. GRiM, if you click on the number displayed in the Confirmed column, you will see a list of those who are registered for a particular event. Also, you can edit any event you submit by clicking on that event's name in the regional events table. This allows you to change dates, etc. Try having a play with the links in the tables and let me know if you have any probs. Btw, if you click on an event name that you didn't submit then you will see detailed event information, not the edit screen.
  15. Hmm...seems that people who have a teamlexus mail address do not receive their confirmation emails. Steve, Is it possible your mailserver will not allow emails to be sent to internal email addresses? Certainly the database tables appear to populated with all the relevant data and this would have been emailed.
  16. User input malfunction? Member Name GRiM Password ******** Verify Password ******** Email Address qwerty@uiop.com Region N.Ireland I got an "LOC Event Manager Registration Confirmation" email, clicked on the link and.... GRiM, you appear to be registered. Are you now able to access your account?
  17. Okay, I just took a look and the regexp I was using in the validEmail() function was flawed. :) I have made a change so hopefully this should work. If anyone still has problems please email me your username and the email address you used in the sign up. I have some log files which will help me determine any problems. Apologies for any inconvenience. Thanks.
