  1. Hi, don't laugh, I'm female and don't know all the proper words, so here goes: First ensure that all the 'wheels' next to the air vents are up as far as they will go. Then you have the three dials in front of you just to your left; (1) this is the one where you choose where you want the air to go - i.e. straight to the windscreen, to you and the windscreen, just to you, etc, etc. (2) the amount of heat dial, (3) the fan speed dial. Turn (1) all the way round to the last icon at the top of this dial. Turn (2) to its hottest setting (just to start off with and adjust when its warmed up), then make sure that the light lit up on this dial is the one to the right as you look at it from the driver's seat (not the other one, this should be lit up when you aren't using the heater at all). Turn (3) as far as it will go (again, just to start with) and you should visibly see the screen clearing as if by magic. It's normally very fast. If this doesn't happen then there may be something wrong with your system. Hope this helps a bit. :o)
  2. Although it sounds as though it's inside, just check your wheelnuts!
  3. Looks in great condition - how much did it go for in the end?
  4. Don't know if this helps, but someone managed to put 2 CDs in at once into my player, but with patience and continual trying the eject CD button after a few days they all came out and everything was back to normal - Yippee. So you could try just pressing eject once in a while to see if any stuck CDs pop out?
  5. I am confused as to what is the correct psi for tyres; book says one thing and garage tells me another - anyone help out please? (Mine's an IS200, auto, 52 plate.
  6. Hi, what's the url for this petition, please?
  7. Hi, you might find that this is being caused by the wheelnuts coming loose. I had the same thing (ie a knocking noise) from my back wheels and it turned out that someone had tried to steal them - one wheel actually came off as i was driving along.
  8. ..... wish it were true! Just imagine; fuel costs slashed by a third; it it were right then the 'inventor' would be a millionaire just like Del Trotter!
  9. You do need to go to a dealer, but there is someone advertising on eBay who reckons he can send you details of how to do it yourself. I don't know if this works or not.
  10. I only got one key when I bought my Lex too, yours definitely doesn't look right. You can buy them from Lex dealer but they're much cheaper on eBay.
  11. How unlucky are you! :/ It does sound as though there's been something seriously amiss in it's former life, I'm so sorry. My Lex isn't at its best either and I'm having to try and 'nurse it back to health'. Fortunately mine's an auto (yep, I'm a lazy driver) and the gearbox (touch tons of wood!) seems OK, but there are definite signs that all isn't as it should be. I've only had mine for 2-3 months, too. Did you contact the former keeper to ascertain if anything happened before you got it? I must say my previous Lex (identical model) was a beauty, never gave me a moment's trouble. Stupidly I updated it for this one, what an idiot, really wish I'd kept the other one; oh well we live and learn, don't we!
  12. What a brilliant result all round, good for you!
  13. How awful, thank goodness you're OK:)! Poor old Lex :( You must let us all know what happened?:/
  14. You are quite right, but as it was parked outside a row of shops and I'd hoped to get into it before they closed (hahahaha) I thought it would be OK; plus I know the woman in the newsagent's and asked her to keep an eye on it for me. Yep, ever hopeful, I know ... However, very, very luckily someone did manage to open it for me at 10.30 last night! So I am mobile again, thank 'you know who'! One thing though; because my Lex had stood for 24 hours plus, the battery had gone very flat, so the guy had to start me up too!!!! Don't know why this should have happened, i've been away on holiday before now and left it over a week and it's been fine - a puzzle!
  15. I know, I was furious when I found out. Still I have got that witness who saw him remove it! I'm going to appeal but as its my fault I don't think I'll have much luck! :(
  16. .... hope so, haven't had any luck so far! :(
  17. What else can I do......! I suppose I could cry, but that wouldn't help at all, would it.... My last Lex was broken into, all they did ws smash the driver's door window - easy, too easy! So it doesn't matter how secure a car is really, does it! No-one takes any notice of car alarms; I suppose the only really good think is that a thief wouldn't very easily be able to drive it away!
  18. Yep but if you wanna get in you can :winky: Apart from smashing in a window, how?????
  19. I reckon you've got a mouse trapped under the bonnet! (Sorry to be flippant). Hope you get it sorted soon. Wouldn't be something simple like dust on the brakepads? Do the wheels need re-aligning?
  20. .... at the top of this page "Lexus named for best luxury and SECURITY!
  21. The AA man who came out last evening didn't try that, perhaps he didn't have them? Thanks for this tip, though, I'll have to see if I can find something similar and perhaps 'have a go' myself. It was few years back but they were about the size of a mouse mat and inflated by hand. He said it was the only way to get into an IS. I'm keeping everything crossed that this isn't the only way nowadays ......!
  22. Oh s**t, I hope I haven't too! I'll soon find out, another AA chap is with the car now, though the car is 'parked' near some shops and not near where I'm working, so I won't know until my daughter calls me.....! Already had one parking ticket, goodness knows how many I have waiting for me now! (I left a notice on the car to say why it was left and the traffic warden removed the notice before taking his picture, some nerve!!!!
