  1. FOR STEVE I cannot send you a messsage it would seem Steve hi, There's a long way away from me, a Mk3 Ls400 for sale with a bad rusty driver's-side front wing Thinking to maybe buy the car, not sure really .......... ( I never am eh ! ) Might you have a spare wing in your collection of spare bits and bobs, for this replacement ? I'm sure new one's availability are a no-no Thank you Malc
  2. nearly a 10% collapse in the price ( and their usuary profit margin no doubt impacted )
  3. and when one gets a flat tyre at the roadside it's simply sensible and prudent to have the Recovery Company change the wheel ...... might take a little while for the call-out to arrive but it will save one a bad headache if it all goes " bang " ... there's 2 ton of metal and leather up there being supported by a tiny metal bracket thingy I once tried many years ago to change my first ever Ls400 flat tyre at the roadside with the provided jack and brace and it was evident the car was shortly going to be on the move downwards if I had continued the exercise .......... never again eh ! Malc
  4. local Texaco in Sittingbourne Kent today was 181.9p for unleaded Mmalc
  5. Is there anyone here with a reputable indy mechanic in your part of the UK that wouldn't find it too much bother to look after a new and moderately well-off customer I wonder ! Your existing mech can't really be bothered with you maybe I would kick him into touch . with a BIG BOOT Malc
  6. would be a pity if we couldn't just view it here as usual too tbh Anyway Ian .. you might wish to change the 2ft long mild steel cooling pipe just in front of the radiator ........ it's a simple length that can be replaced with ordinary house plumbing copper tube ..... when it goes, it just goes " pop " and inconveniently too The mild steel pipe rusts thru eventually and a replacement from Lexus OEM is silly expensive I believe ..... mine replaced a couple of years back / cost abut £2.50 from the local plumber shop Malc
  7. and the price of petrol here is still at usuary rates from all suppliers in my part of Kent ............ thieves the lot of 'em ..... especially the SUPERMARKETS shop at Aldi and Lidl I say coz they have never ripped us off witth petrol prices Malc
  8. the recent petrol companies, BP Shell Amoco and all increase in their own profit margin spread imposed between refinery and onward wholesale -sale ( is that it ? ) of 24 pence relates to an equivalent 36p minimum at the retail pumps price ........... with the Govt Petroleum Rev Tax included So, thank you BP et al for imposing an automatic 36p at the pump price rise that won't disappear anytime soon ..... whatever collapse in the Brent Crude and other prices we might see Malc
  9. many moons ago when i had my 2nd hand car sales business we would sometimes take a p/ex, or even buy at auction cars with what might have beeen a possible valuable registration plate N 4 PRO for instance on my business owned Saab 900 ? that I used before my first Ls400 ......... and whilst the advertisers were taking a punt on trying to find a buyer for this regn. and then I guess approach us to sell to them, the advertisers, middle men never managed to sell any of 'em Whatever special regn you might think you have, to realise any value from it, for yourself, will be nigh impossible to achieve So, buy it especially for you and your memories whatever BUT don't expect anyone else ever will want it Malc
  10. tells the world you're only 18 ( again ) .... and yourself............. so I would keep it to remind oneself of the energy and enthusiasms one had at 18 .... and the fun life gave me at this teenage time ........... all that long gone fun and excitement eh ! Unless of course some dumpty offered you £6000 fot it Malc
  11. which won't help those with zero fingerprints maybe occasioned by after effects for a while, from some cancer treatments I believe It would just be a blo--ody nuisance Malc
  12. and a good swig of petrol will probably sort out many ailmments too This is getting all too serious and way off the mark of Fuel Panic and FP will soon be gone forever when as the AA have been saying recently .. prices will be down significantly these next two weks NOT SURE tho' if that's fuel at the pumps or beer at the pumps ...... if it was the AA Alcoholics Anonymous masquerading as the REAL AA Malc
  13. when I see what exhaust fabricators can actually do I'm quite amazed and wish I'd carried on doing " Metalwork " classes at school some 60 years ago I enjoyed it but produced mostly absolute rubbish I'm afraid ............. better with my fingers at a keyboard .... but not a music one either sadly Wasn't the original exhaust spec satisfactory for the LC500 then ? Malc
  14. jeez, rather more than the value of the old 'gal methinks .... blimey £105 ... 21 pints at my local across the road Malc
  15. anyway, my nephew can, at a whim, shepherd his flock of sheep thru' the City with total impunity ...... sheep droppings and all Malc
  16. Sadiq Khan is simply totally anti handicapped and disabled people .... a zealot for sure BUT also Discrimatory and Evil in his thoughts towards handicapped people don't you think ??? 😈 Malc
  17. when I bought my car 11 years ago it came with someone else's cherished number N 7 GNT .......... zero value to me BUT if anyone wants to make me an offer, if they're a Gin'nTonic afficionado ............ then I'll be happy to swap it for a few beers Malc
  18. I've recently had brilliant broker service from Motor Direct / Home Direct ...John Scanlon 01993 849661 .... give him a quick buzz house & contents is with RSA for my 400 year old house in Kent through them .. every other company quotes double the price Good luck Malc
  19. so sorry to hear of your Cat N loss but pleased you'll get her fixed up for little money and make a cash sum profit from the deal Couple of years ago my Ls400 was a Cat N write-off coz of a smacked rear door ... open and close OK and zero difference to the car performance . just a whack . didn't even break the paint . original is tough methinks BUT they tried heaven and earth to scrap her nontheless . she now owes me capital cost of £600 from 2011 purchase price of £1400 ..... no EV or other car purchase could compete with that, especially as i still have a happy family of moths inhabiting my wallet Malc
  20. Totalitarian and Total Disabled Persons Discriminatory in the City of London by Sadiq Khan ............. it sure is I say this with conviction ... from 2 main sources A ULEZ compliant London Black Taxi owner and driver and my nephew who's a Freeman of the C of L in the City between the hours of 7am - 7pm 5 days a week ...... ONLY buses, cyclists and pedestrians allowed " in " ...... on the Orders of Mein Fuhrer Sadiq the City of London Mayor and all the relevant authority there have been trying in vain ( thus far ) to overturn his diktat ESSENTIALLY if you're handicapped and have to get to somewhere in the City of London by car / taxi then you just CANNOT yes Totalitarian it can be . what the other Cities Zones condemn I have no idea but London for sure is Disabled Discrimatory Malc
  21. renowned for their abominable attention to detail and inability generally to just " get it right " My personal experience at a Halfords buying two new tyres ( they had them in stock and price matched the garage that didn't ) and the way another customer was being so diffidently and non deferentially treated made my blood boil ... he was in for a service it seemed and MOT .... and their just couldn't care less attitude so infuriated me ..... but my tyre purchase was fine btw Malc
  22. said the outside temp here today was 37 C in hot breezy sunny impossible to live with weather in my part of Kent Rain will be most welcome pleeeeease Malc
