  1. I know that there is a converter for the xbox360 that will let you attach a keyboard and mouse to it and use it for gaming. however, it aint cheap. £70 is the asking price. http://www.xcm.cc/XFPS_3.0_Sniper.htm having had both systems, i'd say there's little in it. xbox is "cheaper" on the initial outlay, but things like wireless adapters arent cheap. if you dont care about blu-ray, xbox is the way to go, if you do want blu-ray then ps3. also as stated ps3 has free on-line play but the xbox on-line system is more polished (in my view).
  2. Hi, I've had that issue a few times. At first i thought it was the spark plugs, however i first decided to run some injector cleaner though it as most of my driving is stop start. Also went through two tanks of v-power as well, first tank with the cleaner and a second tank just for good measure. I haven't had issue surface for sometime now.
  3. Simple way round it. Have two systems, one that's got internet access and another off line system for storing your private stuff. Or just secure your system like there's no tomorrow.
  4. Cheers Steviewevie i'll give that a go.
  5. By the look of things it's baked on brake dust that doesn't seem to shift. I'll get some pics uploaded.
  6. I was cleaning the car yesterday and i noticed that there are brownish stains on the alloys. They didn't seem to brush off and the last time i tried the turtle wax alloy cleaners i might as well just used water as it made no difference. Any advice on this is welcome.
  7. Will do. I can check out the IS250C whilst i'm there.
  8. So, anyone off to the Paris motorshow then ?
  9. that must have taken a serious amount of time to do correctly. its like a fancy prototypes vision of tomorrow. certainly beats my half arsed attempt when i did a car pc project.
  10. That would anger me. Bus fare ? What is that about ? I guess some garages are better than others at keeping their customers happy.
  11. Wow, asked the same question on a BMW forum and lets say those guys had a different response. Most of the responses were in area of "who cares what car they give you", "don't complain it's only a car", "snob". I guess being Lexus drivers we're actually used to some customer service and a company that believes in it vehicles. I mean what kinda company would give you a car that isn't one of their own ? A company that doesn't care by the sound of things.
  12. Fear not people, it's just a hypothetical question. :D I was just curious. Luckily every time i've been to Lexus they've always given me a car of the same spec or higher. Well apart from that one time when all the car were out so they dropped me off at work and then picked me up. I guess with these things its the principle, you've bought a nice car (or are paying for one) and when it's off the road you don't want another "lesser" car. I suppose if you bought a car on HP you would wan't compensating for the days it's off the road, as you still have to pay the finance company and you aren't getting to use the car you're effectively renting. aaronabbott if that was me with a Ferrari and that happened i'd be serious p!ssed about that. however i suppose a Ferrari is a Fiat, there are Fiat badges on them somewhere ;)
  13. I'm curious about this as some people say that they aren't fussed and other people are. Say your brand new IS220d se or IS250se etc gets a fault within 4months of purchase and the garage says its gonna be in for a week whilst parts are being delivered. So you get a courtesy car, but the car they give you is for example a 1.8ltr bottom of the range vectra. Would you kick up a storm or just live with it ?
  14. They are good tyres, had em on my IS for 2yrs. Unfortunately that's exactly how they lasted. Apart from that they do offer shed loads of grip in both dry and wet conditions, the other down side to them is that they sit flush to the alloys offering no protection to curbs.
  15. When i had my Tein Type Flex installed the handling was improved not made worse. Ok i'll admit they didn't feel right but thats because i didn't get geometry done them till a few months after the initial install. I cant remember what my ride height is set to (its the Charlesworth default ride height install), but after the geometry was fixed by the Doc the car feels like its stuck to the road. By the way they are bright green and say type flex right at the top.
  16. There's plenty of options for the 4ltr V8 engine. People have supercharged it and twin turbo'd it. You'd also get that all so sweet V8 sound. Again i'm guessing it wont be easy dropping it into an IS200.
  17. it really pees me off when you've worked hard to buy something you want only to be told years down the line we want more money off you. i mean what is that about ? has someone in government bought an ivory back scratcher or are they after a new pioneer plasma tv ? and like people say where is this money going ? kak roads, kak public transport, kak policing, kak schools & crime on the rise. bargin. or maybe they need the money to pay for the military ? green tax to keep the hippies happy, tax hike to everyone else. beside i reckon my is200 pollutes less than those pre2001 hunks of junk that hippies drive around in. moan over.
  18. just curious to what sort of tax an altezza owner would pay seeing as its an import which should mean its exempt from the co2 rating as there is no offical co2 rating for it.
  19. i dont mind the slight price hike for this year, but next year is really taking the pish. it looks they're just trying to price us out of driving cars instead of improving a pants and over priced public transport system. maybe i'll just go out and buy a classic muscle car from the 70's with a huge v8 engine in it just to prove a point and not pay any tax. also worth noting that the is250 boys/gals will be paying less than us next year.
  20. just been to the parkers web site http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/road-tax/?deriv=16548 and its thrown up this for the is200. Rates effective from March 2009 Date of Registration 6 Months 12 Months Band 1 Apr 1999 – 1 Mar 2001 £101.75 £185.00 1 Mar 2001 – 1 Apr 2005 £228.25 £415.00 L are we really going to be paying £415 if you have an is200 that was registered after 1st march 2001 ? seems a bit excessive if you ask me. thats one heck of a tax hike.
  21. I have noticed in my manual, that 55-60mph seems to be the optimal speed for max mpg's. In my case driving to work at 55-60mph in the morning gets me there in the same time as it used to when i did 70mph. Difference now is instead of my usual 21.5mpg i now get around 30+mpg.
  22. I noticed your in Hull, the body shop wouldn't happen to be Prestige would it ? Had my car in there twice and they did a great job. I wasn't too sure about the bright yellow mini as a courtesy car though.
  23. Ironic really seeing as most the Spanish people are descendants of the Moors, who were essentially dark skinned. Or maybe they forget that fact ? Either way it was clearly not a sporting thing to do just because he is the better driver ;-) Makes you wonder what they might have done if Button was in the same position as Hamilton was in last year.
