  1. blueflame do a cat back as does pro-lex, and theres around 3 hks back boxes on tdi's site
  2. i dont think there is anything in tyre, but it could be a slow puncture i guess. there is also a fair amount of speed bumps where i live and from what i understand they dont do your tyres much good either.
  3. i am currently running toyos t1-r's at 32psi on all fours, but 2 weeks ago i noticed that the tyres looked a little flat. so i checked them and they were all at 25psi, pumped them back up to 32psi and left it for a few weeks. today i decided to check them again, and these were the results front drivers :- 25psi front passenger :- 30psi rear driver side :- 30psi rear passenger side :- 30psi when i was running with the dunlop sp9000 they never seemed to lose pressure, and i dont do that many miles or rag the car that much. could it be a combination of lower and hard suspension setup and kak roads ? or is there something more to it ?
  4. The light bulb in the drivers light (where all the sunroof switches are) has finally died after 4yrs of solid service. My question is how do i change it ? By the look of things the whole unit should pop off, but i dont want to damage the car if thats not how it gets changed. Can someone tell me if i'm correct of wrong please.
  5. When i used to work for the police (not as an officer), we were provided with bluetooth kits (civies and police personnel) to use in our cars. Well so long as you asked for one. Also due to the department i was in, i also had a police radio and you can use those at the same time as driving. No hands free, worked as a phone or a push to talk. I suppose they could do fellows workers for driving without due care and attention. Also if you look it into more closely, its not so much the phone thats been banded its devices that operate on the public radio spectrum for mobiles and radios, hence making it only legal for police to still use their radios whilest driving as they use a different digital radio spectrum.
  6. Hi i have the tein type flex with edfc on my lex. Awesome set (and perhaps overkill). They are pricey, however the car becomes more focused. When you first get them, even on their softest settings you may think they are touch harsh. I'd say smillar to a Seat Leon Cupra setup stiffness wise. They will go stiffer but i would not recommend using those setting on UK roads unless you are willing to put up with it. Also touch wood, no knocking sounds yet and they've been on for around 6 months.
  7. I've done some looking around, it appears there is a rear brace but not a front one yet. Had to look at some american sites for the is300.
  8. Does anyone know if the Tein performance bar is available for the is200 and if it is, how much its likely to set me back ? el_gencer
  9. i cut the cable ties which made life easier and a friend to hold a torch so you can see where you hand is. took me 20mins to get it out of the amp.
  10. wii sports is ace and it comes with it. i have zelda and if you like action/adventure then get it, i usually dont play stuff like zelda but i seriously rate it. also people have informed that ray-man raving rabbits is great as is wario ware. get some spare batteries you may burn through the ones you get with the console, and do some warm up before playing boxing on wii sports ;-)
  11. I'm using the nokia kit on my car. I'm not using the stock head unit any more, but the voice comes through the car speakers. There are radios on the market from lg, pioneer etc that have bluetooth integrated and dont cost the earth, it maybe worth swapping the head unit for one of these. Less wiring involved. I used the cable from ebay for the is200 radio swap an iso mute lead with amp from dashmount.com . It was fairly easy to install but ended up with a lot of wires. Hence why would i recommend a head unit with bluetooth integrated.
  12. Depends on what you want (eg lowerd and stiffend, or full customisable) and how much coin you want to spend. if its just a more solid ride you are after then just change the springs.
  13. I too would like to add my thanks as they really have saved me a bundle.
  14. Off Topic (sorry) I too noticed that it got a slating in the autoexpress website. saying its out of reach for most people ? but so is a 7 series, s-class and top end xj's. jurnos get b*nt ! thats what i say.
  15. Are you building up the revs before launching ? If i'm in the mood for a quick launch i tend to put the car in 1st, keep the clutch in and build up the revs to around 3-3.5k and then floor it. Probably doesnt do my clutch and gearbox any good though. 2nd gear is good to around 50-60mph then there is a dip in power and the engine sounds rather loud. I have noticed that its about timing in the IS200 and correct gear selection to keep the engine on the boil, it really needs to be worked in standard mode.
  16. So basically they are saying replace the rears but the fronts are fine. what is the standard impedence on aftermarket rear speakers anyway ? also by the sound of things it probably wont damage the stock rears unless you really up the volume. i'm probably wrong as my electronics knowledge has gone out the window can some one clarify ?.
  17. what sort of damage could occur to the rears when a new head unit is plugged in with the odd lexus 2/4ohm rears ? still i suppose they could be taken out and replaced with ones that work on normal ohmage for not a lot.
  18. Some weird retro sci-fi roof to backend styling gone wrong there. change that and it wouldn't look too bad. having said that you wont nice it when its blurred past you.
  19. if you really want to feel how good a lexus is drive a vectra. drove my mates 2.6 v6 vectra last night and it was like going back into the stone age in terms of very thing except the engine. got out, got into in my little is200 and OMG !!! i swear i have no idea what motoring jurnos are on about when they slate lexus cars, they must be drive a bm* or vectra made to look like a lexus.
  20. Do you have a lot of crap installed on it ? it may also be worth optimising the registry but i wouldn't do it unless you feel confident about it. if it is the hdd, back everything up and re-install using the restore cd and send it back to sony to check (assuming its under a uk warrenty)
  21. sure is a fancy gizmo but i like it. i suppose at the end of the day its all about how much wedge you want to spend on the setup. tein also offer refurbs, i have no idea about the tte ones. i can only comment on the type flex and standard ones.
  22. Had the type flex and edfc fitted on my is200 and loving them. no knocking as of yet and certainly add to the cars handling. havent really used the edfc box other than to impress people but i wont go without it now.
  23. i'm off to the london one as i'm getting a free ticket courtesy of jag. i'm curious to see if it beats the waste of time london motorshow. geneva ranks as the best show i've been to so far this year.
  24. http://www.vaistech.com/sli.html download the manual from the site it details what systems will do depending on age etc. i'm going to get the model number off my radio and ask around on the us forums to see if the is300 radio is the same model number. (top loading 6cd premium job found in the is200 se)
  25. Thanks for the pm LexAzur. I dropped them an email and they said they haven't tested it on a european is200. Thats not going to stop me researching the matter though. I'm sure the is300 radio is the same as the is200.
