  1. rear wheel drive + supercharged + learner = can't be safe for the rest of us good job it doesn't say turbo
  2. Well when they stop travelling 1st class everywhere on tax money or being driven around in big v8 powered cars i may start to think "hey this guy has a point", having said that i don't listen to hippies either :duh: One extreme to another i guess.
  3. That agreement is no longer in place, hence why you see cars like the is350 over there. I have to say limiting top speed isn't that much of an issue, however i am a firm believer of if you can afford a car with 400bhp then why not. Also the government really needs to start the ball roll with these alternate fuels, is just me or have they really been dragging their feet with it ? Also how long will take before people start modding their restricted cars ?
  4. Thanks yemgi, $350 inc postage seems a very good price. I think will look into getting a set ordered.
  5. Yemgi are these the bars you have ? http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=637
  6. Are they relatively easy to fit ? or would a garage have to do it. i'm assuming that a few of the bushes need to be changed when the go on. If that is the case then for me it would be a garage job. Does anyone on the forums have the c-one's installed ?
  7. Thanks guys, those were the answers i was hoping for. Now all i have to do buy a set and have some one install them. Wheres the best place to get the TRD Yellow/Red arb's ? (with gold discount naturally ;-) )
  8. I'm looking in to getting ARB's installed on to my car but need a few things answering first. So here are my questions :- 1) Would you recommend installing ARB's on a car thats mainly going to be used for road use 2) Do they make any strange sounds 3) Whats a good priced kit with adjustable drop links 4) Will they really make that much of a difference to the ride quality when matched up to my tein type flex setup ? Thanks
  9. You could use a wireless video sender. However you run the risk of other people picking your transmission and other people transmissions interfering with yours. The other solution is to buy a dual/quad output lnb and run another cable to the required room and use another box. Thats what i've done. Lnb cost £40+ for a decent one the lower the db the better, and make sure its a universal one as well. Echostar do a box designed for two tv with HD, however Echostars dont come cheap. http://www.echostareurope.com/products_high_definition.htm I think the new Dreamboxes will do HD, also you have the added advantage of being able to customise them and do some not so legal things as well. Humax are nice as well, but again not cheap. http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/products/hdci-2000.asp
  10. Lexus Hull tend not to give you any thing less than what you already drive. However i have been slowly climbing the ladder. 1st car was IS200se auto 2nd car was new RX300 3rd car was new gs300 I suspect they think i'm going to upgrade to a fancier model. I guess its up to the garage what they give out.
  11. Better to spend the money getting the geometry done than having to keep on spending for new tyres. A little bit of cash now will save you spending a lot cash in the future. I was lucky and my tyres weren't knackered.
  12. My car did something simillar, at around 60-70mph. I changed the front discs and that sorted the strange vibrations. I looked at the discs but they didnt look warped, in the end i thought sack it and changed them any way. I put DBA 4000's on, it was an expensive choice to make and would recommend that you have a garge have a quick look you discs before purchasing anything. Quick Fit does a free brake check i believe. However i wouldn't buy brakes from them, they'd probably be expensive.
  13. Had my full geometry done on the Friday by the Doc at WIM. When he tells you "take it easy till you get used to it", he aint wrong. There was a fair amount of things wrong with my setup, car would drift to the left, tyres wouldn't hold pressure, back end always wanted to snap lose and general rough ride. Now thankfully thats all been sorted. I can safely say it was well worth the money, and now i can really appriciate my coilovers. Thanks again to Tony @ WIM. (For those of a techy manner, i can post my before and after setting if anyones interested)
  14. Nice review, i'll be seeing the Doc on the 18th to get my car sorted. The Doc is certainly held in high regard over here on LOC.
  15. Looks like its gonna be trip to see Mr.Bones to get the geo setup properly. Better get some readies ready so to speak.
  16. Hi, I'm considering getting a full geo done on my car as it seems to pull to the left quite a bit when driving since i changed to tein coilovers. I've had it aligned twice but thats made b*gger all difference. I haven't noticed any odd tyre wear on the front or the backs, but the car itself feels a little twichy. What do you guys reckon ? is a full geo the way forward ? also what sort of cost am i looking at ? Thanks
  17. any benifits to doing this, appart from torque being delivered smoothly then a double whamy of turbo power a bit later on ? i know the group b lancia rally car was supercharged and then turbo charged and that car looked mental.
  18. Just got dba's on the fronts the other day and i also have mintex pads and goodrich braided hoses all round. Seems to be a nice smooth setup.
  19. IS200/300 radios dont have aux-in's, you would need to plumb through the antenna to get a spot on reception. Prolex used to offer aux-in modules but are currently unavailable. trust me a radio swap is the way forward as it allows greater flexibility for the future and if you do sell the car you can easily put the stock radio back in. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...c=37720&hl=
  20. to be honest it would be far easier and more cost effective to just change the head unit. you can get the cable that bypasses the amp for £60 off ebay, £20 for the facia and what ever on the head unit, then a few hours fitting it all. i looked at the vais unit a while ago and unless you have a friend going to usa and willing to bring it back its going to get stopped at customs. i changed the head unit on my is200 and now i dont even remember the old head unit.
  21. by the sound of things then i'll just replace the front discs, they've been of the car for 4yrs anyway. thanks for the info.
  22. i've done around 40k and now when i'm breaking at speed (say 60-70mph) the car is vibrating and fights back on the steering, which it didnt do when i first bought the car. I replaced the pads last year with mintex ones, so it got me thinking maybe the discs or calipers are on their way out. whats the "standard" life expectancy of these parts any way ? also what the "best" discs to go for as i'm assuming theres nowt wrong with the calipers dba trd toms mintex brembo etc if i'm changing the discs, is it worth putting on some braided hoses as well? el_gencer
