  1. EBAY - £3 - £10 mate - also check length of your key before ordering as too long a new one will work but not sure the other way round - flick keys from there are said to be massive and horrible-obviously order either a two button or three depending on your need-the electronics bit just transfers over with the aid of a small screwdriver-dont tell the locksmith its an ebay blank when you ask them to cut it or they may use that as an excuse for shoddy work ,,,,, or go to lexus and pay about £100
  2. not sure if they will have the skirt on may have to get that separately LINK
  3. would be easy to change them at that time - when i had mine done (main dealer) i asked for the old plugs which eventually i sent to another loc member with car trouble and no money,i sent him six plugs (one careful owner) and i think stav sent him some stuff too - anyway six months on hes still rollin on my old plugs-only threw the waterpumkp out when i bought the disco as was changed while in the area as opposed to from being worn
  4. i think it would be cheaper and flashier to make one that opens electronically out of an old nav system ! easier to find too, just rip out the nav, make the space inside pretty and wire up the motor
  5. i paid about £100 for mine with the service,i think theyll come in about that mark which is why the wise old hands seem to get them from ebay usa - sorry cant post a link as dont have my manual handy to see which exact make and type it should be ie denso ik20 or similar - have heard and read a few comments about fitting cheaper alternatives affecting performance and longevity of life of plug
  6. u can get the proper original fit ones - denso etc from ebay usa for about £45 delivered if you can wait a bit longer for delivery
  7. it would cost about £30 more to buy those parts direct from lexus which would be the best quality ie crucial tbh on parts like that - ie £230 inc waterpump or thereabouts- also theres a small pipe called a bypass hose which is about £12 which usually gets done whilst the car is stripped down in that area and two small o rings about £3 each - check prices with lexus for exact prices also lexuspartsdirect are highly reccomended - is it worth saving 30 - 40 and taking a chance on ebay stuff being good quality ?
  8. congratulations ,what colour is iit ill give you a beep if i see you around ?
  9. depends if they changed it at time of printing tbh - its 60.000 miles or six years whichever comes sooner - best not to take chances tbh-if its been done by a main dealer itll have a silver sticker saying so on the camcover - also expect to change waterpump and bypass hose with two o rings at the same time for peace of mind
  10. it got revised i believe due to a number of belt failures due to tensioners failing partly
  11. whoflung dung, check your door switches are opening on your front doors, they should trigger an interior light
  12. d6ngr cheer up mate - the more you say a car is jinxed the more you think it is - the reason us chaps love cars is cos theyre mechanical and logical and can allways be fixed (unlike women) - might be time to find yourself a new mechanic or garage in your area tbh - i know its annoying but maybe a main dealer can help - my car was driving me mad with odd noises after some very shoddy work was done by an independant with a good reputation - main dealer cured everything for me
  13. sounds like you need a new battery mate plain and simple - the other fault you refer to is when water leaks into the fusebox and causes headlights to come on or stay on when car is unattended which in turn causes a flat battery sometimes - unless you are suffering from weird headlight problems as well id say change your battery for a new one - just a guess though
  14. izzy are you connecting with the headphone socket on the iphone or a dedicated iphone lead which plugs in the bottom ?
  15. just thought it might be of interest on here considering theres allways a thread about mpg on the go - so for all you iphone users and gadgeteers theres an app called "road trip lite" which is free and you just tap in when and how much fuel you put in and miles covered and the app does all the maths for you and gives you your mpg - you can run multiple cars and do long term inputs for accurate analysis
  16. the is, is olso a bit strange to get used to the cluch anyhow. and is not notchy or clunky if ya use the cluch the right way. err,, i think youll find a lot of is,s are gnotchy and clunky as well documented and discussed here and elsewhere ! - unless of course you know of an advanced way to drive a car that so many other is owners dont
  17. I understand what you mean about little noises in a lexus, kinda part of the reason you even consider buying one is i think the fabled hushness as you woosh around which deservedly earned its reputation when the marque first came here - if you dont have any knocks or clunks to worry about it might be worth considering if the shocks are due for renewal - theyre the most likely part to be starting to wear and alter the feeling of comffort you describe - aalbeit i dont know how long 400 shocks usually last so could be wrong, and as you say you could be paranoid
  18. unfortunately if you call em theyll probably say they dont have any is200s at all - too lazy to know - it looked ok to me but i didnt inspect it very closely and cant be sure which one ie tte/trd it was - also in fairness it was a few months ago so could be gone as it was in the main section - lots of others locked up though if you follow the link, not sure if there were any more in black though, sorry cant be more positive
  19. black boot and high spoiler at bridges scrapyard last time i was there mate - search "spares galore" for directions as not too far from you , black spoiler and boot was in the main yard though not the front field
  20. it could have the wrong size tyre on ot or,,,from what i remember you have to lift the wheel out from the side nearest the rear seat first ie the opposite and most uncomfortable way by stretching right accross the wheel to the furthhest point and lifting the spare up there
  21. good news - well done, all toasty and ready for winter
  22. try russels way first as hes tried and tested it to cure the same problem as you have - also will save removing the thermostat
  23. ive never driven a manual is200 but its quite well covered that some of them have "clunky" or "gnotchy" gearchanges so could be normal on that side of things
  24. Does look really nice - i used to use autoglym till i was reccomended megs on here too , wouldnt go back either , welcome to the club
