  1. good luck with it mate, i guess 4x4s kinda cover all the bases practicality wise ( for me anyway) hence why i went back to one - plus i must admit i have one eye on the weather as we live on a hill and i hate walking in the snow and ice - car looks good for the money, hope it sells quick for you
  2. car looks nice mate - i think wheels are chicanes unless im mistaken which are quite sought after ! - anyone recognise this car ?
  3. Maky - you could pick up a nice 300 for that money-full leather , xenons , armrest , nav - similar mpg as a 200 same gorgeous shape inside and out
  4. good luck with the change mate - put a liink up to your bay of e ad so we can be nosey
  5. can reccomend a product called "LUCAS POWER STEERING FLUID STOP LEAK" - its widely recomended on 4x4 forums where steering boxes are renowned for leaking fluid due to design,,,mine included,,, followed instructions and leak stopped instantly, read up about it yourself but a lot of other products make similar claims but the one by "lucas" is much vaunted and did work on mine ----- this applies if you have a leak on your power steering system which if run dry will give heavy steering or gnotchy bits - obviously steering is quite important so get it checked by a mechanic
  6. looks good - i especially like the last pic which you seem to have captured the metallic flake really well
  7. err-just reread your post - are you saying that from cold the needle goes straight to the hot position or does it happen as the car warms up ?
  8. yup, basically remove a hose from somewhere ie the rad and the thermostat- work out which way the water travels round the system usually from the waterpump and flush the opposite way - put a garden hose in the hole where the hose came off with a bit of rag wrapped round so it bungs the hole up and flush clean water in one hole until only clean water comes out-replace thermostat and antifreeze - youll know if it needed it from the amount of crud that comes out
  9. sixusel it might be worth posting a few pics up of your car as there are only so many supercharged is 200s around so it is quite possible your car would be recognised on here if formerly owned by someone in this club,ie someone somewhere may be very familiar with your car and what work it has had done in the past
  10. Glad to see this one getting resolved without further expense to the op and quite right too - well done for having the patience to go thru all this and not blow your stack which inevitably weakens your position - good advice from all the guys on here too, well done all,,,look forward to when you post up saying you picked up your car at no charge, all valeted like new with no funny noises and a full tank of juice and how happy you are again
  11. not really-as its been sitting a while (you didnt say how long) and the car isnt overheating persay just running hotter then usual i would say you have a blockage of built up sediment or air in the system somewhere - apply some radflush stuff then do a reverse flush with the thermostat removed - (cheap fix if it works)
  12. not nessacarily ian it could be a new fault developing - many other things could cause a judder as well so im sure youll have it investigated asap just to be on the safe side
  13. is yours manual ian ? dual mass flywheels are known to give judder on take off,you should feel that as coming from the rear though
  14. basically the same car mate just one has more power and is tiptronic
  15. the links posted by spurty would be the way forward tbh - the link from bond does not even show three possible ways the dash tray is mounted !!
  16. hello and welcome to the club mate, nice looking car - the models are in separate forums if you go in from the start ie follow the LINK TO WHICH MODEL
  17. might be worth your while to get a cheap obd2 reader - at least then you can grab the codes yourself and turn off the eml light - should be able to get one for about £30 - £60 i think and can be used on other cars too so not bad value
  18. yeah cool thanks-i think the transmitter retune is across the board - i do a lot of sitting around for appointments etc so freeview high on my list-thanks again, enjoy
  19. brakes should be rock solid-im surprised you feel the need to upgrade the brake lines tbh,are you sure theres no air in the system and that you havent got a sticky caliper or other problem especially if you have judder
  20. good post-well done lots of useful info and links here, glad you got the result you were after-just out of interest is yours wired so the passenger can watch tv on the move and if so how is the freeview whilst moving as i hear differing reports as to whether diversity units give quality pic at speed depending on make fitted ?
  21. i think they will all work but you will find the plugs are different on the back depending on the code so if you buy a different one ( AND PLEASE DONT DO IT JUST ON MY SAY SO !! ) you really need to ask the vendor to cut the plugs off the car the stereo comes out of with enough wire on to allow you to solder/connect your wires onto once you have cut your original plugs off - dont take this as gospel but im pretty sure its correct
  22. no problem - i orsdered a few from various places at the same time ie 3or 4 !! they always break so its good to have spares-best one got cut first if you see what i mean-ebay usa were cheap on there compared to uk
