  1. I would say a good soak with WD40 would be a very bad move. The joint needs to be packed with grease and WD40 is likely to disperse it.
  2. I'm sure this has been posted before...interesting how the struts go even on a model!
  3. it's not just a Reliant Robin it's a Reliant Super Robin. They put it the right way up to take the photo then let it fall over again!
  4. Hmm..maybe I need new glasses, that doesn't look like an early 90's LS to me. However, if we must use cards from a different pack............
  5. If only the Celsior was a Lexus and not a common Toyota...you could have trumped me!
  6. As I had my camera with me today I thought I'd take a couple of pics of the old girls rear end, simply because I think it's one of the most pleasing rear ends of its era....but then I may be bias.. :winky: Phil
  7. The scary thing is, although you can't really put a price on a car like this an insurance company would. Because of its age it wouldn't take much of a prang for them to write it off, so like you say, I'd be afraid to use it, but I'd love to own it! But you can get an "Agreed Value" policy for unique cars such as this instead of a market value for total loss. Pete it's nice to se you on here, are you missing the 430? I'm assuming an agreed value policy would be way higher than a standard one though.

  9. What a gem! The price may be high but I can't help thinking with that kind of background and history you really are getting what you pay for, and an exceptional car. Heated garage? we can only just afford to heat our house! Phil
  10. Welcome to LOC and thanks for the lesson in herbs and geography! Phil
  11. I have to say all the "minor issues" you've mentioned would be enough to have me waking up in a cold sweat! As it's been said, there are plenty out there with good history (which is so important) For another £500-£600 you could find a gem, but I can't help thinking if you go for this one you'll be spending much more than that to put it right in the coming weeks. Phil
  12. Check that you haven't got a seized caliper but from what you say my money (which I don't have at the moment)would be on warped discs.
  13. Is it only noticable at higher speeds, say 50mph+? Mine were fine below that but really bad above, it was warped discs. The price will vary depending on quality. Phil
  14. Lucky man! Welcome to LOC. How about a photo after you pick it up? Phil
  15. What happens if the repair costs £510, do you just pay the £10? I'm having a legal wrangle with a waste disposal company at work because I didn't read the small print properly. I would read it very carefully!
  16. John, welcome to LOC. Hopefully someone will come up with the info you need. Phil
  17. Hi Allan, welcome to LOC :D Phil
  18. Thanks for that, I appreciate the in depth info :D
  19. I believe the mkI and II have a button under the dash, left of the steering wheel, to disengage remote locking. Not entirely sure if the mkIII still has one. Worth checking I suppose :) Correct about the remote button. At one time when I was cleaning the interior I accidently switched it off, and then assumed the remote wasn't working. Don't know about the Mk3 though.
  20. When I bought my car nearly 4 years ago the previous owner said the ABS warning light sometimes comes on, but he had the ABS checked and it works fine. Because it may not happen for months at a time I've never bothered with it, although sometimes it'll light up everyday for a week. Is this common, is there maybe a sensor that needs replacing, if so is it easy? Thanks Phil
  21. An LS for your mother to run around in? What a good son, most mothers would have to make do with a Korean mini!!
  22. I can still remember the 8 track in my Ford Anglia, interesting listening to two songs playing at the same time!
  23. Sadly never because I don't think it works, unless of course I've been doing something wrong. Got me thinking, I must have another try tomorrow, especially as everything else works on the 18 year old!
