  1. Hi I could do with know what these grommets are for, they are just in front of the rear wheels . Also is it part of the chassis that they are in?
  2. Im with these lot. I think it looks quite smart from your "mockup", go for it.
  3. I take it u checked that uve connected it to the right wires. i did mine the other day and its fine. personally i would doubt it was the dew as its all sealed in when your boots closed. is your battery ok? the alarm goes off if the battery gets low.
  4. surely either way if it smells like burning oil then it must be. Id recheck the seals or like you said, maybe rings. I wouldnt up the oil though stick to 5w30 like is recommended.

ahhh Thats a shame about the problems. atleast you caught the cambelt before it went though. Im just in eastwood so might see you round. I wont be in my IS though as im not allowed to drive at the min for health reasons. whats your reg?
  6. Sounds like a good deal that does. Wish i could afford it lol. i had a look but cant remember the chaps name sorry.
  7. I know this is not a lexus but my mrs golf v5 had exactly the same problem, like yours the oil was fine as was the water etc. I changed pipes here n there, thermostat, heater matrix, alsorts. until finally i decided to get it pressure checked. Turned out there was a crack in the block and the head gasket had gone. Hope yours doesnt turn out to be this but I would definately get it pressure tested before you start. Hope this helps
  8. Sorry mate you took it completely in the wrong way. I would get it sorted asap otherwise the caliper could warp. I think thats whats happened to mine. Right, you could either go down the route of buying a caliper repair kit and refurbing it yourself, http://www.biggred.co.uk/ There is also a good tutorial of how to do it on this site. Also if you need it, a previous post on here, http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=66490 You could buy an already refurbed caliper and trade your old one back in. Or obviously just buy a new one, but to be honest, I wouldnt bother IMO because chances are it will just do they same thing. Hope this helps
  9. Not being offensive, just the other topics will give you more info as it is such a common problem. Ive had mine go about 3 times now and just had a refurbed one put on every time. Good Luck whatever you decide to do
  10. Snow button= bag of **** most pointless thing on the car. If the snow is bad enough to make you think "oh id better put the snow button on" then its just not worth going out. IMO
  11. yeh there are plenty of topics on this already. just use the search facility. But anyways its a case of buying a seal kit or buying a refurbed caliper and trading your old one in.
  12. nice car mate. never really taken the time to look at the yellow ones. looks gorgeous
  13. Was it a serious question Ben? That reminds me of a joke from many many years ago. A guy was stopped for speeding and gave the excuse that he was low on petrol so HAD to speed to get to the garage before he ran out. Deadly serious lol I didnt get caught speeding haha! I only thought of it because there is a stretch if road on the A610 near where I live that is a 40 then 50 mph limit. 50% of drivers stick to it, yet the other 50% tank down it at 70+. It just got me thinking thats all.
  14. Just decided to do the fog/brake mod and will eventually do tthe full conversion. Ive put the cable in place so its there ready as and when I need it. Found a couple of spare connectors though whilst doing it and wondered what they are? One is near the passenger side rear light and the other near the boot locking mechanism in the lid (pictured) any ideas?
  15. Im sure you can still get the discount but cant remember who you contact. Ill have a look.

Hi mate welcome to the club. Good to see another nottinghamshire lad on here, they seem in short supply. Whats up with the car then?
  18. It would be nice to go in that GS, looks gorgeous. Congratulations aswell mate.
  19. A PRUIS! you should be ashamed of yourself lol
  20. haha I was gonna say a V5 IS200 never heard of one of them before!
  21. There are plenty of nice examples around for that price but its just a case of waiting for the right one. I managed to find mine with just 36k on and one owner, cant really beat that and it had full lexus service history for a fairly good price at the time. Dont mind paying the money if its been well looked after and looks nice
  22. Very nice indeed. I saw on a program the other day that a chap had converted his basement into an aquarium. There was a viewing area in the basement itself and to clean it he just lifted the floor boards, put on his swimmers and jumped in with a rag Anyhow I would love to be able to get a tank started like yours but to be honest I doubt I could afford it at the minute. Can I just ask the dimensions of your tank please? Cheers
