  1. There are mobile interior repairers, I have used “Automotive repair systems” before but I don’t know if they cover your area. My damage was not as extensive as yours, they fill it with some sort of plastic paste then spray it with a leather looking spray, they didn’t have the colour match for my car so had to send a sample away to get the right colour match, but I was impressed with the results, and you had to look fairly hard to see the repair, but as I said my damage was not as bad as yours. This was a few years ago, I think it cost around £80 its a long shot but you could try a breakers for a replacement panel.
  2. On a non hybrid car when you use air con the engine is put under more strain because it has to turn a compressor, causing you to use more fuel, on a hybrid car the compressor is powered by electric from you car battery witch is why your air con will still work when your sitting in a traffic jam with the engine not running. Your brakes and power steering work on electric for the same reason. Admittedly this would drain your car battery quicker and therefore the engine will tend to run more to re charge it, but you will only really notice this if you spend a long time in a traffic queue.
  3. I have just paid £445 for a full service on a GS450h, although they ordinary quoted me £570, so shop around and play one dealership of against the other.
  4. The photos around at the moment are for the US market, most states don’t require you to have a number plate on the front and in the states that you do owners normally fit a bracket on the side, so the bumper will probably slightly different for the UK model, if you look at the firs photos of the new GS it also looked to have a massive front grill but the UK models have the number plate across the front that breaks the grill up.
  5. I am not an expert but wouldn’t keeping it under a cover for a month during the warm weather do more harm than good, condensation, humidity, ect.
  6. If your after the “F” your need nearer £65k
  7. The first time in history a bride gets to the church 20 minuets early.lol....
  8. He must be a good mate, I would have thought the products to do the job correctly would have come to that amount.
  9. I would have thought that if the scratch has gone below the clear coat / lacquerer level then the scratch will not polish out, as for the fading it could polish up as long as again its not the clear coat that is damaged. It looks like the scratch is in the middle of the door so a smart repair is really out of the question, depending on how fussy you are, it would improve the look but smart repairers usually don’t like doing repairs in the middle of panels as its difficult to get a good blend, unfortunately that only leaves a full panel re spray.
  10. £13,980 down to 6k..lol, I think England stand more chance of winning the world cup then you getting that car for 6k. 12k if your lucky. Nice car though I am sure you will enjoy it, as said above don’t worry about the Hybrid, and it will certainly go a lot quicker than a 3.00 with better fuel consumption.
  11. I would have expected that any problem accruing within the warranty period that has not yet been rectified would still be covered under the warranty, also any part fitted under warranty would be covered for a year, the problem you have is that they will say is a different part that has failed not the part that they have replaced.
  12. Go through your insurance, as already stated your going to lose your no calms anyway un less your have it protected, also I would go through a Lexus dealership, in fact I make sure my insurance company understand that if any work is needed that it will go to a Lexus dealership, they normally tell me that’s not a problem but it may take longer as it may not be one of there recommended repairers and that they would not guarantee a courtesy car.
  13. I get the dealership to change my key fob battery every 2 years on a major service, so far I have never been charged for it, shouldn’t either the amount they charge for a service
  14. I would like to remind you stu that swearing on this site is not aloud and the word RUST is totally unacceptable.
  15. People generally take out warranties if they think that there car may go wrong, and Lexus cars simply don’t, ok that may be a bit strong, no car is perfect and I expect your hear of the odd story. A Lexus extended warranty costs around the 1k mark for the 450h, you may find warranty companies offering it cheaper, but make sure they cover the hybrid and batteries, most don’t. So if you put that 1k in a bank in around 2 years you would have enough to replace the batteries IF you are unlucky enough to be one of the VERY few that have had to replace them.
  16. The tyre sensors and valve are all one unit, when you have the tyre removed you will see a small black box inside the rim connected to the valve. You cant just replace the valve.
  17. I think as these cars have got older perspective buyers have shown concerns over the hybrid system and batteries, so this is a good way Lexus can re assure them, although I would like to read the small print just to make sure it's as good as it sounds.
  18. The boot space doubled on the M4 witch came out in May 2012 There are a couple of threads on this forum about the batteries, the consensus is , forget then and enjoy the car.
  19. My guy would charge me £85, but I have known him a long time and have put quite a lot of work his way, I would say around £100/£120 max.
  20. I don’t know there’s just no commitment these days, I’ve handed in my notice at work just to be there.
  21. Really depends on how much you want to spend, a smart repair by a professional will look good and cost you around the £100 mark, if you do it your self your need the paint code, normally its on a plate just inside the drivers door.
  22. If possible I would be tempted to try and keep both, ok its £500 a year to keep the SC on the road, and yes deprecation, but you mentioned that the Jag is worth very little so it sounds like you only really have deprecation on one car.
  23. You cant, just press the start/stop button to turn the engine off, then press it again without your foot on the brake, you can then use the radio, but after around 20 minutes the car will automatically shut down to save on battery power so you will have to press the start/stop button again, a bit of a pain if your watching a film.
  24. Or do you mean witch they can get the most money out off? I again believe the speed awareness course fees did not go to the police, I never under stood it , you either deserve the points or not, you should not just be able to buy them for £91. My dad got a ticket through the post a couple of years ago for doing 36 down a long steep hill, the photo clearly shows his brake lights on, they tried to convince him to go on the speed awareness course, he was 84 at the time, been driving for 68 years without ever having an accident or even a parking ticket, what the hell were they going to teach him, just a money making con, he turned them down and took the points witch have now been removed due to time elapse.
  25. I was a Driving instructor for 20 years and used to help run speed awareness courses, I have been out of the instructor game for 8 years now but I believe they no longer offer them.
