  1. i thought i read somewhere that the UK are not getting the RC 200t
  2. The red does look really good and I was torn between the too, must have changed my mind a dozen times, but my last two Lexus cars have been red.
  3. No chance of a speeding ticket, in fact an old biddy in a ford escort just over took me. Lol.
  4. Hi, still here but some have left. Hopefully you will be here soon. Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC

As you follow the cinema car park sign off to the left keep right , this will put you in the middle car park if its raining, or the left lane will put you up on the top floor if its dry

  7. My GS 450h f sport had a rattle there, it was the seat belt housing, this is mentioned on the US forum where they had a fix, i told my dealership and what ever they did the rattle went.
  8. I might be completely wrong but I don't think having the A/C on makes any difference to the m,p.g as I thing it is electric and not driven by the engine or it would not keep producing cold air if you are stuck in a tragic jam without the engine running? Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  9. Hi Ryan, I had a 2008, 450h from new for 4 years, no problems to report although I only do 4K miles a year, I had a very small rattle, I found out it came from the passenger side seatbelt housing, an easy fix by the dealership. just have a look at the boot space and see if it will work for you. in 2012 I changed it for a MK4 450h f sport, much improved over the MK3, seemed much better built, more power, bigger boot, better ride, and better economy, it’s a car that I will probably go back to once I have had my mid life crises with this beast. As said above buy it from a Lexus dealership, and take advantage of the 2 for 1 warranty, then you will have 3 years piece of mind. A great car which I am sure you wont be disappointed with.
  10. Just wondered if anyone has had any problems with a Lexus extended warranty. Some people say its not worth the paper its written on. For example has anyone taken the car in for a warranty replacement part and been told that although that part is covered by the warranty and will be replaced free of charge but the part next to it, witch also HAS to be replaced is not. For example I have a boiler warranty and it went wrong so I called them out, it needs a £300 part they said, but its covered under the warranty, BUT you will have to have the system flushed first at a cost of £600 before we will replace the part, ok I said ill flush it myself, no they said it has to be flushed by us. So that type of problem, in other words a complete con, I personally haven’t had any problems but there are a lot of members on hear talking about taking out extended warranty’s so just interested on other peoples experiences.
  11. Hi Luke, welcome to the club, i butt in on the IS-F forum every now and then, i get fed up talking to myself on the RC forum.lol
  12. Hi and welcome to the club, I unfortunately also cant comment on the IS, but I did have a GS450h f sport, not sure if the set up is the same but that had active suspension and in normal and sport mode the ride was quite soft and smooth, however it was a lot stiffer and harder in sports+, so if the IS works the same way you can have the best of both worlds, best to test drive them yourself and feel the difference.
  13. Hi Peter I have purchased my last 3 cars from Sidcup, ok I know when your buying a new car they are going to be as nice as pie, but I seem to get along with all of them there, they have always treated me well, have given me a very fair price on my old cars and have on quite a few occasions put them selves out, I have in the past had to shop around for the best service cost, but they have in the end always matched it, I believe things have changed and all dealerships are supposed to charge around the same price, I think I will still make a few calls just to see.
  14. the cost is about right, really depends on weather your into car cleaning yourself, you could buy just as good products if not better for half that price, but then you will have to do the hard work yourself. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/gtechniq/exo-v2-and-c1-crystal-lacquer-kit.aspx
  15. Ventilated seats is just a fan under the seat that blows air through hols in the seat, so you have to wait until the air in the car is cold before you get cold air coming through, cooled seats take the air straight from the air conditioning system, I believe only found on the LS.
  16. I think the reason they didn't stick a V8 in the IS is because they already have its called the ISF. They wanted a 2 door coupe to replace the SC, also I think that most ISF owners would agree that the ISF is not really a comfortable 4 seater car never alone a 5 seater, that's why they are bringing out the GSF, a 5ltr V8, comfortable 5 seater witch is around the same width as the IS and around 6" longer Sent from my iPhone using Lexus OC
  17. Lexus paint is very soft and although Black is one of the best colours when clean and new it is the worst colour to keep looking that way, it shows every chip, scratch and swirl mark. So you really need to protect it as much as you can from new, I had a complete new car protection treatment done on my car, ( see link below ) this adds a very hard protective layer on top of the lacquer already on the car but is much harder, this reduces the chances of light scratches and swirl marks, you just then have to make sure you clean the car using the right products and in the right way. Snow foam, two bucket system, soft mit ( not a sponge ), micro fibre clothes, ( not a chamois ), Aqua Gleam de-ionising water filter. All this costs money, so it all depends on how far you really want to go. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/car-care-blog/new-car-protection/lexus-rc-f-born-on-fuji-speedway-protected-at-brands-hatch/

  20. I'm considering a 60 plate GS450H SE-L to replace my 55 plate RX300. I have a one year old CT200H also. Was there a face lift in 2011? It looks like this 60 plate one might be a newer model? I used to have 98 LS 400 and have missed the impeccable smoothness since. Does the GS450H offer the same traits? Thanks The MK4 came out in May 2012 my old 450h f sport
  21. Hi congratulations on the new car. To answer your questions 1…. Leave it in drive, unless or course your in really heavy traffic and can see your going to be at a stand for a long time then you can put it in park but its only in park or drive that you will recharge the hybrid battery’s, in fact if you put it in natural you will get a message come up on the screen warning you of this. 2… your not using the full potential on the batteries (141 bhp ) when driving at high speed, for example on a motorway doing 70mph you are hardly using the hybrid system and purely relying on the 179 bhp petrol engine 3… I would use the handbrake, unless you are parked on a flat surface then I suppose you could get away with just leavening it in park, I am assuming it is a foot operated handbrake? And agree it does take some getting used to, my GS had a electronic handbrake witch automatically applied the handbrake when you put it in park, my RC has the foot operated handbrake and for the first few days kept forgetting to take it off, although the car soon let me know. Lol. Not long now, just a few sleepless nights ahead.
  22. it costs around the £100 mark to replace the the tyre filler
  23. not sure if this would work with scratches, looks quite impressive though.
  24. Ha Ha, they offered me that car when I took mine there, I suddenly remembered I had a friend who could come and pick me up, I would say do you have to sit in the back to drive it, but then it doesn’t have a back, I would say though its very easy to clean the back window from sitting in the drivers seat.
