  1. I see you have an IS200 sport, are there any mods on the vehicle? Standard 17" wheels? What size tyres do you have? What pressure do you have the rear tyres? How many miles has the vehicle done? Does the sound still exist if you apply the brakes lightly whilst going round a corner? Does the sound still exist if you apply handbrake lightly whilst going round a corner? Does the sound still exist if take the vehicle out of gear and coast round a corner? How fast do you need to go before the noise is there?
  2. In theory I would say about the same if not a little better in the 400h if the software was programmed correctly has you have more control and better low down torque. You wouldn't need much power in snow/mud so the size of the motor shouldn't be a problem.
  3. It has a low power electric motor for the rear wheels. Engine and more powerful electric motor for the front.
  4. There are lots of different Denso Iridium Power plugs, the IK20 model fit in the IS200, Altezza, GS430 etc. An IK20 is an IK20, that is a specific model there are no variations. To check what plugs your vehicle needs follow this link: http://www.globaldenso.com/PLUG/search/index.html
  5. Welcome to LOC The new shape IS is available as the IS250 and IS350 (in some countries).
  6. IK20s for a standard Altezza. The Hex size is 16mm however you cannot go wrong, IK20 is only one size. http://www.globaldenso.com/PLUG/power/spec.html http://www.denso.co.jp/cgi-bin/plug/4wplug...=+%B8%A1%BA%F7+
  7. a start to lose weight from your wallet ;)
  8. I have an iTrip. Works ok, I only use it for podcasts so I switch it to mono to improve the signal. It's just a pain trying to find a frequency that isn't in use. Also it really drains the battery on the ipod.
  9. You can probably choose not to have the wood trim on an SE-L when you order it but you cannot get an SE with air suspension so it must be an SE-L. Both the SE and SE-L have adaptive front lighting so you cannot tell from that.
  10. I take it you have replaced the plugs if you have old ones somewhere? In that case it may well be a plug, otherwise it could be a coil pack. The ECU should really detect a misfire and log an error.
  11. fm transmitters are the worst option because of reception problems (it's difficult to find an unused frequency) and because the Lexus FM performance is poor. Tape adapters can work better than FM transmitters. Otherwise go with the expensive Vaistech solution: http://www.vaistech.com/
  12. Yes they are two processors. You cannot just double the clock speed and compare to the older single core processors as alot of programs do not make use of two processors and therefore you don't get double the performance. The current Intel processors (Core 2 Duo) and the Dual/Quad core Xeons wipe the floor of AMD.
  13. I would speak to Lexus GB and ask about the returns/replacement policy. You may be able to do it through your dealer or you may have to post it back but speak to customer services first. The disc number you have (Ver 1.01) is the same as the one in my vehicle which is a 2000 model so I know the DVD unit is a 1st generation. I've checked with a Lexus dealer a couple of years ago for updates to my vehicle and received the following information on update discs: 08664-50864 Sat nav DVD ROM Note Please select this part number for vehicles produced until end June 2001. For vehicles produced from July 2001 onwards, please see alternative part number in main menu. Latest accessory version of the disc fitted at factory. Version 1, Release 2004-2005. P/N 08664-50863 was Version 1.04, Release 03-06, P/N 08664-50862 was Version 1.03, P/N 08664-50861 was Version 1.02.
  14. they are not a direct replacement as the connectors are different
  15. I believe you have to be careful if your cameras are recording public spaces.
  16. Please don't duplicate posts, all updates should be in the Buy & Sell forum thread. Thread closed.
  17. 08664-50860 is so old the website doesn't know about it. Try 08664-50861 which was next years disc. You have a 2000 (1st Generation) DVD unit. You will probably find the latest part number to order is PZ485-L00EU-06. 86271-24126 is not a disc for your system and therefore will not be read. You will need to exchange it.
  18. series I exterior looks better but everything else on the series II is in a different class. Gearbox is the biggest difference, makes the vehicle so much more refined. Really what you want is a series III :) That is another big leap forward over the series II
  19. what a poor website, they need to re-write that to work in something other than IE! You are also better off looking on the US site as some of the products aren't available on the UK site.
  20. GS430 sport didn't come out until 2003 so you will not get one for £12. You may get an SE with the sports kit on it but it won't have the lowered/improved suspension. The running costs difference between the 300 and 430 is really just fuel as the 430 does around 3-4 mpg less. The GS300 is a bit boring to drive, the 430 gives it a bit of fun. If you don't need the extra room I would have an IS300 over a GS300. All 3 would be better than the IS200 auto. I don't really rate the auto box on the IS200, engine has to rev too high to get anywhere which makes it noisy. The IS300 and GSs are much more refined. I would go and test drive an IS300 and GS430 and make your own mind up.
  21. If you view the coverage pdf files on the site you see there are 4 different nav units, 00, 01, 03 & 05 however there are only three main codes so either 2 units share the same discs or 2 discs share the same start of the part number but could have different endings. Looking at Keywest's post it looks like 2 discs share the same start. 86271-70V290 and 86271-60V660 were not compatible. The numbers have to be in sequence, e.g. on my unit I have 08664-50860 the next updates were 08664-50861, 2 ,3 ,4 PZ485-L03EU-06 is a 2006 disc for a 2003 Nav unit. As you have a 05 vehicle I guess you have a 03 nav unit but could be an early 05 unit. You could always ask your dealer for the price of a new disc, when they quote you ask what is the part number. Also remember the PZ485......... code isn't printed on the disc so if purchasing from ebay always use the other numbers. If you are purchasing from ebay remember that the Toyota models share the same discs for the full screen nav systems so don't just search for Lexus DVD. The very first DVD Nav discs (2000) have Lexus written on them but once the Nav unit came out for the Amazon they removed the branding so they didn't have to produce both Lexus and Toyota discs.
  22. the disc version is dependant on the revision of DVD/NAV unit you have. That is why the web site asks you for the part number of your current disc (and why dealers will ask you for your vehicle chassis number). Discs are not compatible between different generations of Nav unit.
  23. tomtom one will do everything you need. They are around £190.
