  1. If they are in the wrong position they make more noise than not having them at all!
  2. Does the RX not have a wind deflector that comes up when you open the sunroof? Maybe your one is broken or missing? Hopefully other RX owners will be able to confirm if one is fitted and if they also have problems with noise.
  3. I know Gary has already lowered the pressures and that has helped. Anybody live near Gary with 17" GS wheels? It would be nice to swap the wheels over and give the car a test to see if just the wheels will make a difference or it's the springs. Gary, maybe your dealer would let you try a set of 17" wheels?
  4. BMW are worse. The 5-series has about the same depreciation and around the same list price. as the GS. However you need to add options on the BMW (steering wheel, seats etc) which add £1,000s to the cost only for the dealers to offer you standard spec money when you trade in! Depreciation is always heavy on large cars and it's something you need to consider when buying that type of car, but it's the mark up that gets me. Gary's had the car a few weeks, it's had all the problems sorted out, in showroom condition so the dealer has to do nothing and they will put it up for £15,000, maybe £14,500 as it has another owner!
  5. Lexus dealers do take the pi$$. I had a couple of poor trade-in offers. It varies between dealers and does depend on the other vehicles they have in stock. I would normally expect to see a £3K difference between retail and trade-in but as your car is in showroom condition there should only be £1.5. I suggest you borrow someones 17" wheels and see if that improves the ride.
  6. Sorry, thought you were in the UK. CD player probably an option in the US. Ignore my previous post as the links are for UK specifications. Make sure the car has service history and the cam belt has been changed and you shouldn't have any problems. I would also post your question on the US site. They should be able to give you info about the CD player options.
  7. Lot's of mail order places on the web. Should cost about £2. You need to open up the key fob and find the battery model number. CR1616? Your Lexus dealer should also have them. I'm not sure if a battery change is on the service schedule anymore. They used to be changed at each service and therefore should never go flat on you.
  8. Is it a UK car? Thought it should have a CD player both series II and III should have one. Here are the specs from Lexus: http://www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=l...model=ls400_mk2 http://www.lexus.co.uk/approved.php?area=l...model=ls400_mk3
  9. This is not a fault but a limitation of the software. They all will do it. The instruction state that the best route may not be chosen. Later software improves it.
  10. If it's not under warranty you don't need a new screen. Either the cable is fractured or it needs re-seating.
  11. Very strange as the SO-3 are one, if not the best, in the wet. All the reviews I have seen confirm this and they were outstanding on my Supra in wet and dry. Too noisy for a Lexus though. Yokos are normally good. Wear can be a problem on some models and wet performance is normally their weak point.
  12. Be careful not to damage the curtain shield airbag if your model is fitted with them.
  13. I would think it's noise when the roof is closed not open. You could ask your dealer otherwise you may have to spend the $25 for alldata access.
  14. Not in the IS it isn't, there's no lumbar support. Will new bolts be required for 20mm?
  15. I think you paid too much @ £175 each. Try Bracknell tyre and battery for a quote to see if the price is competitive, they are one of the cheapest I have found - 01344 411323. If you want a tyre that's as good as the Pirelli but you want to save some money then have a look at the Toyo Proxes T1-S
  16. There is always a cost element involved in OEM parts and therefore you can normally find better. The OEM tyres fitted to the GS for example do a good job but there are several different ones that are better, and look at the rubbish they first fitted to the SC430.
  17. Give me the parts and the dash and I'll solder them in for you.
  18. Do you have a problem with your dash?
  19. Whilst the engine is running the driver cannot hold the phone. If it's in the glovebox then you cannot hold it so that's fine. The problem with the earpiece headsets is you need to hold the phone to make a call. http://www.theaa.com/aboutaa/features/fea_...e_july2003.html
  20. Wasn't that the whole point in upgrading from the standard ones? You don't get any decrease in stopping distance as the stock ones can give enough force to lock the wheels. Do you get improved feel with them?
  21. My wife's doesn't really clunk, it feels like the gears don't mesh properly sometimes between 2nd and 3rd but I don't drive it enough to worry about it.
  22. Where does the supercharger get it's drive from? I take it the bearing is ok with the extra load? SParkyWar, did you speak to TDi about this mod? There must be a stage when the intake needs to be upgraded to get the full benefit?
