  1. Stupid question but I take it you already have the supercharger?
  2. I'm finding it hard to imagine someone would be so :iraqi-info-minister: :P Somebody got their rear bumper repaired the other week with great results so it can be done. If it's going to cost over £200 then it may be worth thinking of getting the TTE one :D You can fit sensors to the front. The only thing you need to do is mount a switch somewhere in the car so you can switch it on when you need it. Otherwise if you cannot switch it off it will be beeping all the time in traffic.
  3. Claire, is your stereo the old or new style? If it's the old style then it should be covered for 5 years. New ones do not have an extended warranty, there are no common faults that I know about with those ones (apart from not sounding as good). Your lease company should pay for the repair, or are you going to buy it at the end of the lease?
  4. Pioneer stuff in the GS. CD player and speakers are anyway so I guess the head unit is. I take it you meant Mark Levinson? Another odd thing is happening on the GS like the lack of memory seats on my GS. I have seen two GS 430 sports in the last month at dealers. Both have the standard stereo and the descriptions next to the car states the ML stereo is an upgrade. On the Lexus web site and sales docs. is states it is standard. Why would it be an upgrade on the 430 sport when it is standard on the 300SE? Seems that they either forgot to add it or they had the sports knocking around for a whilst waiting for the new suspension to be ready. If you are going to buy a Sport then make sure you get a new factory one and not a dealer showroom/demostrator.
  5. Now that model wasn't listed on the 'what lexus to you drive' poll!
  6. The Alpine one is made by the same people as the Lexus one, Aisin. What about a HP/Compaq ipaq + GPS receiver and software. You can move it from car to car and you also have a pda to use as well.
  7. I think the SE-L is better for that but worst on bumps. I guess the shocks need greater resistance to stop the floating.
  8. Lexus are just a rebadged Toyota. Not sure what is going on with them at the moment but there have also been recalls on the new Corolla and several problems on the new Avensis. All sorted out quickly and without fuss though which is what you expect from Toyota. I would recommend not purchasing a car within it's first year of production. Let all the problems get sorted out first.
  9. I never use the sunroof. They give rattles and creaks etc and would prefer not to have one. Not really an issue on a GS but it also weakens the structure of the car and affects handling. I knew a person who had a GS SE without a sunroof. Had it ordered as he needed the extra headroom.
  10. The procedure is the same. Remove the side pieces of trim (just pull off but don't to too hard or you will snap them). The are two screen at each corner. One (the outer one I think) can be loosened and this allows up and down movement. The ALLDATA DIY online is only $25 so it's not that much more than your ebay CD.
  11. Thanks dipstick, I took the car to the dealer and they seem to think it needs new door seals. They have ordered them and are being fitted on Wednesday. I'm not sure, I think it comes from the windscreen. I pressed it hard in the top corner and most of the noise stopped so I think you are right about the seal. I'll let the dealer replace the seals and if that doesn't do it I'll mention the windscreen seal. I still have 2.5 month of warranty so hopefully it will be fixed by then! I have adjusted the sunroof, it's still a bit low on one side but it's at the end of the adjustment. I may have to pack it out a bit. I to have a CD from ebay. It has a few things on the MKII, wiring diagrams etc. but not too useful. Has anybody subscribed to ALLDATA?
  12. How much clearance is there under the seat? The motors take up quite a bit of room.
  13. Looks great. A bit too shinny at the front end, maybe that's just the camera highlighting the mesh? Granite Sky is a top colour!
  14. Do you have standard wheels? Does the other wheel do the same thing? Maybe the liner isn't installed correctly.
  15. Sure, you don't want any cr@p. I meant do you want to spend £150 on springs or £1000 on coilovers? I think Eibachs for the springs. From other posts this week TDi have them in stock and offer GOLD discount.
  16. How much money do you wish to spend?
  17. On the Dunlop web site they actually list a special version for the IS200. Doesn't say what the difference is between the IS one and the standard one in that size. http://www.dunloptyres.co.uk/site/tyres/ca...atterns/SP9000/
  18. I'm not too worried about the laptop, just the damage being done to the sides of my boot :)
