  1. My belt is due for renewal now so I'm gonna stuck in in the next few weeks. I was in the same situation with my 300ZX and the water pump. Its seems daft not to do it when its all in bits in front of you. No doubt the hardest part will be cracking the Crank pulley nut.
  2. I fitted a set of Eibachs to mine. I bought them from a place in Birmingham. Cant for the life of me remember what it was called but Edison was in the name They are listed for the American Spec MK1 GS but are exactly the same. I think they cost approx £160 for the full set. Fitting is quite straight forward if you are handy with a set of spanners. The only specialist tool you need is a spring compressor.
  3. I haven't checked for it losing water yet. I just got the curry smell coupled with the quick misting on the windscreen so decided it must be weeping. I'll run some more checks before I condemn it but im pretty sure its weeping.
  4. Its either gonna be a pig of a job or really easy. Has anyone had one out? Its a MK4 LS and im just beginning to get the tell tale curry smell.
  5. Apologies if this is a dumb question but being new to the 400 and having one with DHP, i'm curious to know what it consists of apart from the wheels.
  6. It was always gonna take something special to get me out of my GS and now its happened. Got a MK4 LS in Renaisance Red with the DHP pack and LPG. Now the GS sport was excellent but this is just a whole new ball game. There are a few little things to sort but thats part and parcel of the fun. Jus gonna enjoy it for a few days first.
  7. I guess its buyers market. There is or was a latest generation GS on the Auto trader site for £10995. over Xmas.
  8. Chris. The one i'm hoping to get is the same colour as yours. Getting impatent now (and Dislexic)
  9. Thanks Chris. The main reason for me wanting it of him is the LPG conversion that was fitted in July this Year. It would take something special to get me out of my GS even after 3 and a half years ownership.
  10. Cheers. I'm not that clued up on the 400. I think its a MK4. Its not a 430 and is I think the last of the old shape with sat Nav as standard. Registered in 99.
  11. Hi everyone. I have ventured over from the GS side. I'm very tempted by an LS that we have in the family. Its a MK4 with the DHP kit fitted. It sits lovely and low but IMHO it would look better if it sat on my spare set of of MK1 GS sport wheels. I know the fronts will probably fit but would I be able to use the ten inch rears?
  12. I sourced a set of Eibachs for mine. The front is sitting lovely but im convinced the rear is too high compared to other sports.
  13. Not too bad. I thought it would have been a bit closer to four figures. Knowing me as well as I think I do, I will probabably end up making my own. :winky:
  14. Had a look for the system via HKS but couldn't find a price or a listing. Anyone got a ball park figure?
  15. Looking for an Exhaust system because mine has gone past its best. Are there any aftermarket items available for the MK1 or is it a trip to the dealer to hand over my Arm and Leg complete with shirt sleeves and Cuff links?
  16. Pretty much bomb proof like most things from Japan. We have an LS with no history that we all abuse when we need to get around. Its just shy of 300,000 miles now.
  17. My first GS did exactly the same thing. I went through all the usual checks and found the fault by accident. I had a sticky front brake caliper. I stripped both of them, cleaned off all the muck and put it all back together. Wobble cured and never returned. I found it when one of my front wheels felt warm compared to the other one after a run home from Blackpool I think. It wasn't sticky enough to cause a pull on the brakes but it did stick on to cause a wobble at a certain speed that I could drive through.
  18. I can feel your pain and frustration. I had a similar problem recently with my MK1. Check out my recent posts and you will find out how I cured it. I didn't have any error codes showing either.
  19. Sorry. I didn't realise I had 2 threads running on this more or less the same. To quote the title of a very early Spandau Ballet song, its all fixed and working and is still pulling strong. It was the air flow Sensor. The one I replaced it with was faulty as well. Check out the other post under, "Where is the Fuel Pump" for the full saga.
  20. Scam the Scammers. (wasn't that a song by Suzi Quatro?) Do a google search for 419 eater and enjoy the reading. :winky:
  21. 297,000. No service history. Bought as an MOT failure 2 and a half years ago for £500. Been used as a pool car for the family and has been superb and still is.
  22. Love it. Its your car. Your choice. Its great to see something different. I have a Stag as well as the Lex and if I so much as tell someone I put different oil in it, then the originality brigade spit there dummy out. I think the 400 looks soooo much better lowered.
