  1. Mine has been bad recently but im pretty sure the sticking rear brake caliper has had something to do with it.
  2. One word for the new GS and IS. UGLY. Thats only my opinion. It doesn't matter.
  3. Well that was fun........not. It refused to come off due to the amount of rust on it so I ended up getting the hacksaw on it and replacing the filter with one from a Vauxhall Calibra. before and after pics.
  4. I changed the last one on my old Lex when the Engine was out and don't recall draining the tank. Im just about to change this one and need to know if its before or after the fuel pump. ie. Will the tank syphon empty with the filter removed or is the pump in the tank and the only petrol loss will be whats in the lines and Filter.
  5. Paul. Put it on the bay cos you get the biggest coverage for the least expense if you sell it before the end and you can have some fun with the would be scammers.
  6. When I eventually get around to fitting my 10" rears I was going to take a trip up to Drury lane cos its not far from me. Think I will give it a miss for a while now.
  7. Must be difficult potting those Balls with that in the way. I can beat that though. Mine sat in the loft along with the new fan belt since I got the car in April. They both occupied one each of my emergency chairs. lol.
  8. I was bored yesterday so I thought I would change my Timing belt and Fan belt. It all came apart really easy and went back together the same way without any problems all within an hour and a half. Well not entirely true. The change was straight forward enough but I was disappointed to see the state my Radiator is in. It doesn't leak or cause any problems but its falling apart. I remember my Supra having the same problem but the one on my old GS was fine. Looks like a visit to my friendly local Rad man is on the cards before to long.
  9. I find this hard to believe but our local Newspaper carried a story yesterday about a phone mast causing certain immobilisers to kick in when the car is quite near. The story was mainly about a lady with a brand new GS which was pictured. Lexus apparently can't find a fault with the car and it only happens when she is near this particular mast. Is this Bunkem or can it happen? If you are driving into Liverpool via the M62 and your car stalls at the very end of the Motorway then you could be a victim of the mast. It doesn't affect my GS but then again its old like me.
  10. In theory, the Shoes should never wear because they are used solely when the car is stationary. If you need new shoes then you can get aftermarket items. They probably are worn due to it being so easy to drive off with the brake on. I never ever use mine unless I park on a big hill and even then, I will always look for flat ground to park on and walk that little bit further.
  11. I have always used Unipart Antifreeze on everything. Its not cheap but its always done the job.
  12. I don't want to sound pessimistic but has your gasket been changed or has some dodgy garage just whipped out the Thermostat?
  13. My ride is very good with 18", 40 profiles and Eibachs. The ride is much more smooth than my last GS which had gen Sport springs fitted.
  14. Its still attached but it looks like a Halfrauds special. The mesh is rusting and the bottom of the grille has no support so if you open the bonnet by pulling it then it could be damaged. Im aware of it and its only me who works on the car so its not really an issue. I have promised to make it a pair of supports to make it more rigid but like most things with me (along with my spare sport alloys) i'll get around to it oneday.
  15. my car came with a sport grille. Its very poor quality. Its not homemade either.
  16. Looks like im taking my box out at the weekend. Its started slipping in forward drive from cold. It may have something to do with the weather and the low oil level so I will top it up and give it a good testing first but if not, im on the garage floor dropping it out. I haven't stripped a Jap Auto Box before. Never had the need to. I have done a few Borg Warners from Rovers and Triumphs so its not going to be to daunting.
  17. Paul. If I was going to sell them then i would want to be rid of the Four. They are unbent and have the centre caps and locks and key. They need relaquering or stripping and redoing. It depends on how far I can be bothered going. The set of four can be had for £300 which includes posting to anywhere in the UK
  18. I have a spare set that im considering doing in all silver but like everything else with me, I probably wont get around to it.
  19. Nice Pipes. Are they available over the counter or are they a one off special?
