  1. Anyone know what size the rear brake discs are on an 07 is250?
  2. Dodgy battery or interference as said I would guess. Some Lexus's have the sensors for detecting the key inside the car in the drivers footwell to start the car. Also normally to start a brand new car before its even been in the workshop you have to hold the fob next to the button.
  3. I have had 2x IS250 and both made the noise you described and as stated just the injectors. My GS300 didnt but then I guess its just because its a different engine.
  4. I just wanted to know if its risky running a panel filter, I have heard due to them being oiled it can mess up the air flow sensor? Is there any truth behind this or has anyone been using one hassle free and fancy sharing the brand and feedback? Thanks
  5. Fair play, whether or not other people like it, you do it for yourself and your tastes. Its an individual thing otherwise we're all be sheep and my personal Opinion I like it. Have you had to modify the air intake at all?
  6. I want something with atleast the same stopping power of the OEM set up, at a lower price too. Also just the looks wise, I know grooved discs don't make much difference in everyday driving but they look nice.
  7. I'll be there as long as its a Sunday.
  8. I'm thinking of running Mtec grooved and dimpled discs with Mintex pads, anyone else used either set up? After hours of researching I'm not any closer to making a choice but time is against me. I'm trying to be cost effective and not have an inferior braking set up, the other option was EBC pads such as greenstuff but they add another £60 to the total and are they really worth it?
  9. Try holding the key fob above the button then press it. Thats what we do on brand new Toyotas to start them before they go in the workshop.
  10. There is a few Santa Pod events happening this year does anyone as a club want to go, convoy down? Japfest, Fast Show are two that come to mind and normally a great day out.
  11. When I had my rear discs and pads on my GS, they said they adjusted the parking brake. It made the world of difference a few notches and it was on fully.
  12. I'm fairly sure Toyota/Lexus ECU's and Fuel pumps are encoded to stop people tampering with them and remapping. Breathing mods, exhaust, manifold etc are your best bet but can be costly for the few bhp gains you may see. I have seen people piggy back ECU's but thast when they have added a turbo on a petrol on a very low boost, but I'm no expert as others said just be careful.
  13. Thanks guys first one it is, also Pedro for the ISF spoiler painted I paid £78 including shipping. It came from Taiwan and to be fair the colour match is excellent and so was the build quality. I was skeptical at first but hey glad I went for it in the end. Few pics of my car it wasn't really clean so apologies:
  14. Hi I have both of these lip spoilers but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to put on? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41NTFfdMhFL._SX425_.jpg or http://www.branew.jp/imagefolder/lexus/is-f/large/005.jpg Please help I'm going in circles! Thanks
  15. Auto all the way in these and I have never looked back. My first IS250 was a Manual, it was ok but the auto is out of this world better to drive in comparison.
  16. Looks great, keep meaning to do mine need the inspiration!
  17. My only thoughts more weight over the back wheels with a full tank for traction and low tank = less weight so once moving more get up and go.
  18. For the best grip in my opinion were Yokohama Advan Sports they were brilliant. Avons were fairly decent for the price and out of the premiums the Dunlops gave the quietest ride and I found the Pirelli's more likely to tram line easier in the roads.
  19. Best of luck the grey sussex leather looks brilliant with the black footwells so easier to keep clean unlike the cream.
  20. Looks brilliant, a real motivational transformation! Do you mind if I ask how you have got on with the K&N Panel filter? I know sometimes the oil can cause MAF sensor issues and whether you have noticed any difference in engine note or performance. Lastly have you changed the bulbs in the fogs, forgive me if I missed it mentioned somewhere?
  21. I personally think the drop looks good on these cars with either H&R or Eidbach lower springs. My first IS250 I put 19" BBS wheels on and it still look strange without being lowered. I have heard the ride is still fairly comfortable too, and hey if the goverment are investing millions in our road going lower and improved smoother roads then its a win win. I believe with H&R there is a EU and a US spec, I recall another thread discussing this.
  22. They don't however my old 55plate GS300 had it on, which pretty much had the same amount of kit as my IS. So it was a suprise when I found out it didnt but hey they need something other than a longer bodied car to justify a price jump from the IS to the GS.
