  1. Mine is a 2001 and still working well so I wouldn't worry and enjoy the car as it was designed to be.
  2. To be fair it was someone else who pointed out it was advertised on eBay so I don't think that is a fair comment about not being a gold member.
  3. Sorry the hear you bad news. I hope something turns up for you soon.
  4. Yes it can be left on without disconnecting the battery. From memory it was about £100. It's the second CTEK charger I have had and with all things you get what you pay for. I use it for car and leisure batteries it has recovered a couple of batteries that were dead. In my opinion it's worth the money. My LS 430 doesn't get much use but it's allways ready to go as the CTEK keeps it topped up.
  5. Yes if you can use spanners take your time it's not too bad a job. Take pictures along the way for when you put it back together and you will be fine.
  6. If you can find a non premium car they don't have the air suspension and rear air on to go wrong. Buy on condition and service history rather than mileage
  7. Does anyone run a 600 with high mileage? I am thinking of buying one as my daily drive as they are now reasonable money. I do 30k miles a year so the mileage will soon rack up. I never worry about clocking the miles on my 430 but I can't use it for work as it's too old and fall outside of our opt out package.
  8. Accidents happen it's just a shame people don't own up to what they have done. At least it sounds like you have a result.
  9. I run a 430 without flash lube. Leeds LPG also said it wasn't required when they did the conversion.
  10. There is a week spot on the back boxes that can easily be repaired with a small patch welded on and you will have a lot of life left in them.
  11. Leeds LPG also offer a lifetime warentee and will charge £1100. I have 2 vehicles that were converted by them useing KME kit and have had no bother with either.
  12. Leeds LPG have done them both and are very reasonable £1100 each and the Grand has a lifetime guarantee. There are some pictures on here Somwhere of the LS and I can take some of the Jeep in you want but there is nothing much to see on either as they are a very neet install.
  13. This afternoon as the kids were off we decided to take the LS430 out for a run so we had a 230 mile round trip for fish and chips in Scarborough followed with an hour in the arcades. Very relaxed and enjoyable drive now back in front of the wood burner out of the rain.
  14. I have 2 KME kits fitted one to my LS430 and one to my 5.7 l Hemi grand Cherokee which is 322 BHP and have had no issues with either of them (apart from the rate that the Grand drinks fuel).
  15. Good job now fit a new bearing in the clutch of the old compressor and sell it to get some money back. Easy job now the compressors off.
  16. I can measure a 2001 car if it's any help. If so exactly which measurement would you like
  17. It's the bearing in the magnetic clutch that fails ont the compressor itself. Not sure about the 400 but many cars can be done without removing the compressor.
  18. Mike I know it's a con but there are loads af insurance companies that won't touch them without a UKLPG registration and it will only get worse. I don't agree with it but it's a fact ok life
  19. For me one of the biggest issues are the insurance companies that insist the car has to be on the UKLPG database before they will insure it. There are many good installers out there just do your research first.
